  1. Come do the Eagle Experience next year and sit in the press box area with us. It’s a much more enjoyable experience!
  2. It was so good to talk with you yesterday! And as disappointed as we both were feeling, it’s a little redemptive seeing Leander and Keller as the first two bands out of finals I must say. 😊
  3. Yes they were absolutely stunning to watch. I could not take my eyes off of them!!!!
  4. I’m actually quite satisfied with them!! I have been ranking FloMo high for a few weeks now and it feels justified after the SASR results. That show is INCREDIBLE!!! I was screaming!!! 😂 I’m so happy for those kids This show was very Broken Arrow-ish but with that special Flo-touch added to it. It was perfection last night!!! I was also quite thrilled for McNeil and Seven Lakes to get into finals. We often say that we want to see some fresh faces in the SASR finals, and we got some!! McNeil is a fantastic program musically and so it’s nice to see them having success now in marching competition as well. And Seven Lakes honestly just blew me away yesterday. What a fantastic show!! What a performance! Congratulations to both of these phenomenal programs! There were so many amazing performances this weekend and I was so happy to experience them all live again in the Alamodome with my fellow band friends. And I can’t wait to get to Indy next weekend and do it all over again! Lastly I just want to say something about my amazing Leander kiddos (yes, they feel like they are my kids, lol). While I was definitely sad they didn’t make finals, it was quite comforting to see them soooooooo close to the cutoff. Leander has been underrated a bit in general this season, but I knew they were performing exceptionally well all year and this really just proved it to me even more with the highly competitive environment that this year’s SASR was. I know the prelims performance could have been a little rough for them after the medical delay (oh how I hope that sweet guard girl is okay), but they came right out and killed it after the emergency situation was handled and they were just an absolute joy to watch perform. Keep it up Leander! You will be great in Lucas Oil Stadium and I can’t wait to be there live to witness it!! Ok everyone, go get some well deserved rest as we push through one more week of competition. Good luck to everyone at state and GN this week!! GO BAND!!! 😊
  5. Slight change in the schedule since Oak Ridge had to drop out due to transportation issues. McKinney and Hebron bumped back 15 min.
  6. There is one small revision to the schedule (Sandra Day O'Connor moves to end of block 1 on Friday at 12:00 and Veterans Memorial moves to 10:00) so I have revised the OP to include the changes. Good luck everyone!
  7. After winning the guard caption at the US Bands Southwestern Championship this week, Marcus shows us why they’re knocking on the door of World Class.
  8. Oh my goodness Cedar Park!!!! Wow wow wow! I absolutely can’t wait to see how this show does at GN!
  9. Wow. Great improvement from Lone Star since Prosper!
  10. I watched it on the stream and I sure didn’t see any of the things they referred to.
  11. And I love you guys too. In fact I love y’all so much that I am about to drive through floods and tornadoes up here from my home in NW Arkansas down to Oklahoma and Texas today to get to y’all. 🚗⛈️🌪️🥴♥️
  12. Bands who advance to area but choose not to attend state do not lower the number of slots an area will be qualified to send. If 25 bands gets 1s at region but only 23 decide to go forward, the area still advances 5 bands to state.
  13. “And yes, I may be biased being that I play flute for Weslaco.” There, I fixed it for you.
  14. I heard they changed everything around, taught the trumpet quartet how to toss rifles while playing their solos one handed, and Peter Gabriel himself is going to pop out of the giant sunglasses prop and sing the In Your Eyes closer live along with the band! 😃😎💙 just teasing, of course. (How fun would that be tho?!) And you are certainly entitled to your opinion! Honestly though, the show isn’t easy by any means and there is GE a plenty! Will it be enough to get them into finals at either San Antonio or grand nationals? I think it will. But only time will tell! Happy Bandoween my friends! Keep plugging away and good luck to everyone at UIL, SA and GN these next few crazy weeks. Y’all got this!
  15. I was just about to start an entirely new thread about this! TXBands is running so slow for me lately, and some times it won’t load at all. On Saturday I figured it was just because of Area happening all day and lots of people trying to post, but it’s all the time now. Any one else?
  16. I’m loving how unpredictable it all is this year. We might even see a new band at the top! 😍
  17. I am really looking forward to seeing 5A finals live again in the Alamodome next Tuesday! I know all of the bands are going to bring their best performances. 😊 Hope to see some of you there!
  18. I’m having a hard time picturing Lone Star above Leander simply because of how LS ended up 11th in finals a few weeks ago at BOA Prosper, and how Leander received several 2nd place ordinals at Area this past Saturday, ahead of both Rouse and of CP in several categories. I am not discounting Lone Star at all, in fact I LOVE their show! I just think Leander is being a bit underestimated here.
  19. I am assuming this is the multicam link https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/events/uil/gama1015f8588
