2019 BOA San Antonio
Rudedog34 replied to CTJBandPops's topic in Past Contests, Events, and Festivals Archive
I am back...but as a Hendrickson alumni. Daughter graduated. I was slated to shoot the directors video & shoot photos this year, but with my full time job and trying to prepare for my own thing going into 2020, I have probably missed out on that gig. I have definitely been out of pocket but will try to get up to the school to touch base with the directors very soon. All I can say is that there will be some retro in the book and it should be a good time. -

They sound amazing!. I wish I could have seen the entire band. Please, please TxBand members. When shooting vids or photos of your favorite band with a phone: portrait is for social media sites. Landscape is for true video. Most new phones come with a wide angle setting as well. Set it, rotate and get the whole picture. Sorry...I digress... Thanks for posting Momma -

Awesome. Nice work. Did you produce those in school or on your own? -

Personally, I would like to see them no matter how old they are. I dabble in photography and video production & editing. Let me know if they're still available for posting or sharing. Always like being inspired by other's work. -

Visited your Facebook page. Enjoyed the concerts. Do you march the bagpipes too? The txbands forum is mostly populated with high school competition bands so when flip folders are used it is during pre-season or rehearsals only. Most of the students at our school use the Grover you mentioned with plastic inserts for protection.

My daughter and I will most likely attend.

Combined with an interpretive dance (I'm guessing)from the Scarletts. Can't wait for SASR! -

BOA Houston 2019

Should keep in mind that Austin is one of the earliest if not the first competitions of the season and I'd estimate 95% of the bands barely put 1/2 their show on the field. The shows that consistently place in finals are rewarded for their consistant preparation that early in the season. It's a waist of time to compare contests of varying times throughout the season. SASR is the final test for all but those who can afford the trip to GNs. -

LOL Both "Blueprints" shows were from schools in the same district a few miles from each other. Go figure.
