I think it's funny that the money argument is popping up on what is probably overall the wealthiest area in the state. Yes, there may still be some economic disparity between some of the schools and school districts, but this area consist of almost entirely new growth suburbs.

So to clarify, with Area A getting a third band to qualify to state, do we now have enough bands at state for 14 finalists? I saw some comments about area I only getting four qualifiers, but it looks like that's all that was expected. (And yes, I know we still need Area C results, but they should have at least 4 qualify)

I'm really hoping that we get a tie for fourth place here because there are too many bands that deserve to make state.

I'm pretty sure Ben Ash is a Keller alumni. I remember someone named Ben Ash that was a drum major and did color guard when my sister was in the Keller Band.

BOA always does a top half/ bottom half split for finals and the order within the half is random.

I haven't been watching but I'm surprised to see no Jenks here. Congrats to all finalists. Wylie making top half is very promising for their chances of snagging that fourth state spot at UIL.

I believe it is in reverse order exactly.

Is Keller Central class AAA?

While GE is definitely impacted by design, I don't think its as much about the props and colors and pizazz that so many seem to suggest. It is more about the wow moments where the music locks into place due to excellent intonation and expression or when the marching and formations lead to awesome moments. I'm both cases, an amazing design will fail without excellent execution. You can watch videos of some of the top bands in the country throughout a season and see that as they clean, their GE score is greatly increased as well because their shows become more effective.

Keller was .1 away from missing finals at a contest for the first time in a decade.

Some really great performances tonight! Thanks for posting the link to stream this contest. One group that I really loved tonight that I think has a lot of potential to do well this season is Timber Creek. Their placement felt about right for me, but I feel like their show has a ton of room for growth and high effect. I also really loved Waxahachie! Great job to all who competed and all performers!

Wow, this lineup looks as good as just about any BOA. Hebron, Waxahachie, Keller, SLC, Wylie, Lake Travis, Keller Central... The list goes on and on but this is a great lineup!

I would say BOA Las Cruces would be a good one as well.

Keller plays Marcus, LD Bell, Timber Creek, Keller Central, and Southlake Carroll as well as several other great groups. Wish I was around to actually see the performances.

I don't think either group will have trouble making finals and that order is what matters more. Still, that is pretty crazy that they will be going so early.

LD Bell is a former grand nats champion and multiple time medalist. I'm not sure I would include them in this list, though I would love to see them back at nats again.

So are there 23 schools in the area?

Coppell is still in this area, right? It isnt on the list of 22 bands above.
