Yeah LOL, they have had a great season though and the hype train is real. I still love their show and can't wait to see what havoc they can bring to 5A if they can keep this up and build on it!

This is kinda right, they had a very early performance time and wanted to make sure the students were well rested for State. I think their faces would have been fine overall but it's next to impossible to make up for that sleep. Especially this late in the season when everyone is already exhausted all the time anyway

A little surprising that McCallum missed finals when both of the other bands (Dripping Springs and Weiss) from their area made it. I wonder if there was some kind of problem with their performance in comparison to their overall very strong season that lead to a disparity in results between Area and State. Totally different contests but it's still interesting how these things happen!

CP and DS just KILLED it the first two performances if the day!

Any predictions for this weekend?

To be fair though, in 2017 CP going first can be seen as an advantage. They were able to have a normal warm up and were not effected by the adverse weather outside like everyone else was. Plus if I recall the moisture may have played a part in the electronics issues that DS had right before their performance. I do agree that both of those programs are going to be ready to roll when it come time though! Wish I could be there in person to see it!

Cedar Park and and Dripping Springs as the first two is going to set a crazy base line for the whole contest and I'm interested to see how well they cope with those early spots. Don't think it was necessarily a nod to 2017 but....

I have been watching DS's show on repeat from last Saturday in Waco and I think that they are on track for a lot of success in the late season. Dripping Springs has always been a program that takes a while to build but it seems to me from the outside that they are going to peak at the right time. Their show is perfectly built for UIL and they have had a lot of practice time recently with a lot of recent contests. All that being said any of those top three programs are really going to have to bring their all in finals if they want that Area Championship spot! Let's hope it isn't as cold as it was in 2017!

Anyone have actual results?

I think that Dripping Springs is starting to use this contest because it is right before 5A state. It is a little closer and the chances of them having two lower pressure performances to lock in the past week of improvement helps them a lot late in the season
