  1. Is that for real? or Predictions for who makes Finals?
  2. Lord have mercy they changed it up so much since I went in 2020. We parked at the lot next to the Early Childhood Center building lol. The now spectator lot was used for secondary parking. Unfortunately, there isn't much I can help just because of the lots being different.
  3. To answer that, no there are bands that are in the 5A & 6A Classes that do not sound all that well. I mentioned early on in the season Lumberton did in fact sound like a 5A/6A Band. Let me talk more about that. Lumberton has layers in their show musically that you don't typically find in a show that is not 5A or 6A. In general, 5A and 6A band programs tend to score better than 1A - 4A. That goes for musically and visually. Lumberton's show this year is something completely different than what has come out of the program in at least the last decade. I think it has high potential to go far and honestly seeing all the comments about Lumberton being mid just fuels the inside of me into wanting Lumberton to absolutely dominate. I do want to say even though musically Lumberton sounds very good, they need to clean (of course we are in THAT time of the season) and just do something with that ending.
  4. Which competition?
  5. Underdogs as in bands who make State but just can't get over the hump into State Finals OR bands who can't get over the hump into State? I have a few in mind but will try not to be biased.
  6. Yes they did win Area C last year over Sulphur Springs.
  7. Since the Military State competition has started back in 2020, only 1 military band has gone through the Open Class State route, and that was Spring Hill in 2021 where they placed 21st/26 at 4A State. I doubt military schools will go through the Open Class route unless something major happens for the Military State process.
  8. Kemp received a 2. There goes 8 advancement spots down into the bin.
  9. Same. My anxiety is starting to kill me.
  10. Yes, all of them have to receive a 1 in order for there to be 8 state spots.
  11. Those band's spots do count in how many open class bands advance to State.
  12. Tarkington in Region 9 received a 1. Still waiting to see what Shepherd got.
  13. Region 9 has their contest going right now. Currently in their dinner break and will continue with the 6A's at 6pm with Tomball.
  14. Riverside getting a 2 shocked me big time. I too have been enjoying them the last few years and do think they will be back next year. Someone big is going to miss advancing to State and it could be any of the Canyon ISD bands and/or Pecos. Area A has grown to be more competitive than what it used to be like. Not at the level of Areas B & C but at around where Area E is.
  15. Freeman placed 14th/17 or 18 bands in Prelims. With less than 50 members in the program, that is really good for them!
  16. Area Finals have been a thing since at least the 90's.
  17. oooo yeah there is an issue with that. I recommend you taking a photo of your prediction list and then let me know after that, so I can go in and delete them and let you redo the predictions.
  18. There are 0 captions at Area. UIL does not give out captions in its marching competitions. Everything is ordinal based.
  19. Well, that and you are highly known in the marching arts community. Also over half of the Admins on this site have left since then. Only a few remain active (ish)
  20. You so need to be moved up into the TXBands.com Administrator Panel! 😂
  21. Just letting everyone know for the Duncanville Marching Invitational, TXBands Predictions system only allows up to 15 finalists, so that does mean 1 band will be left out of the predictions.
  22. Prelims: https://www.uiltexas.org/files/music/6A_Area_F_Prelims.pdf Finals: https://www.uiltexas.org/files/music/6A_Area_F_Finals.pdf Here you go.
