  1. Yes, it is in planning and development. Kids and boosters do not know at this time. But, this is going to be a full blown BOA show and my guess is it will be of similar style to their last Grand Nats show.
  2. This may sound absurd, but Cedar Park is doing a full on BOA show this year. Last year was an aberration (massive issues) and this season was a full state focused show. With finally no movement in leadership the T Wolves should be back in the BOA discussion.
  3. I have been looking for our Grand Nats performances from the early 90s, no dice anywhere. What Cedar Park does at the end of the season is make a USB drive available with every performance from the year, to include concert band. It's a nice keepsake and a good fundraiser for the band.
  4. They have an amazing show this year. I usually love what Vandergrift does but this Leander show is something special. Finals is going to be a 4 way fight and something incredible to watch.
  5. I'm loving the semi finals results for LISD and Team Texas! Congratulations to Leander and Vandergrift. The funny thing is that neither of those bands are the district state championship holding bands. Wow!!
  6. Their last 2 years has seen them go through a change is assistant director(marching director)/ color guard, and added a new junior assistant director. Lots of changes in leadership and remaining relevant and successful has been good for the organization as a whole. I really want to see them push next year but some of that will be dependent upon a young group.
  7. My son attends Cedar Park. In the CPHS News this week they mentioned that the band will be attending Grand Nationals in 2020. This does not verify that they are going but the school paper is usually pretty accurate.
  8. What a show! What a contest! Contests like this is the reason that I prefer UIL to BOA. The focus is on performance rather than the entertainment value or the "Wow!" factor of the performance. This allows bands like Highland Park (great show, extremely well played, nicely crafted and arranged) to have a chance to shine right alongside polar opposite shows of bands like Wakeland and their more BOA styled show. Huge congrats to Cedar Park, Highland Park, and Wakeland. They stood out and the scores reflected it. I think this year's finals contest was the closest from top bottom that we have seen since the realignment. Even the judging panel was no slouch! Great job to everyone involved.
  9. Well, Highland Park and Cedar Park are in a dogfight! Wow!!!
  10. McCallum played as well as they did at Area. Dripping and Weiss played better than they did at area. McCallum played just fine. No excuses

  12. So, I went to watch rehearsals t hi is afternoon after Tivy. Who rocked?
  13. Yeah, they looked and sounded pretty good. I think they should make finals but based off of this morning Dripping Springs may have clipped them.
  14. I had to miss Poteet and I refuse to put a band in without seeing the performance. Seeing them was not something I did not expect.
  15. It's early still. My favorites for finals: Cedar Park Dripping Springs Wakeland McCallum Burleson Centennial North Forney Glenn Lots of bands to go. Lots of amazing performances today. Lots more to come.
  16. I stand corrected!
  17. You will get tonsee them tonight.
  18. This whole first set is laying it down. Wow, Burleson Central has a gorgeous show.
  19. 34 bands.... 1 goal! Let's roll!!!
