Bones will be fielding 15 more horns this year. The addt'l brass auditions and are aiming to bring in older players from the East and Mid-west colleges. The corps only had 4 or 5 ageouts last year in their hornline, so getting in is going to be tougher this year if you don't have DC experience. Crossmen mean serious business this year... remember they've been in the top six several times in their history; and they're not playing to lose. It's Texas for God's sake! Stay tuned for one more big staff announcement from Bones; it rocks!

Good luck getting into any of these corps, even Crossmen.

http://www.crossmenalumni.org Crossmen Wrap Up Very Successful Season! By Gary Cuzzocrea Published 08/10/2008 Crossmen Alumni News Although they missed out on the finals by a few tenths of a point, there is no doubt that the 2008 Crossmen season will be remembered as a tremendous success and as a launching pad for bigger and better things. On and off the field, the corps presented themselves with professionalism and pride that did not go unnoticed. Fans, competitors, alumni and even DCI itself commented all season long on the unbelievable improvement the corps made from last year, advancing three placements from 2007. There was also special notice taken of how much confidence they displayed in presenting their very popular "Planet X" program. This was a young corps, but a corps with a determined level of focus and a love for performing that will be allowed to grow and be nurtured for years to come. Special congratulations go out to Meghan Huber, drum major, and Mark Chambers, director of the corps. Meghan received the Jim Jones Leadership Award from DCI and Mark received the highly coveted and well deserved DCI Director of the Year Award. The Crossmen Alumni Association would like to congratulate all the members, age-outs, volunteers, instructional staff, support staff and administrative staff on giving us such a memorable season. We wish you all the best as you prepare for an even more successful 2009!

Here's the update on the Crossmen Guard member who was injured in the afternoon show: This was posted on the Crossmen website this morning in their segment called "The Daily Planet X" http://www.crossmen.org/daily-planet-x.html?lnum=73169 " During the opener Marissa in the guard fell and dislocated her knee. She could not move. John from the guard staff sprinted on the field in order to help Marissa and keep her from being trampled. One of the guys in the guard put his flag down and helped John get Marissa off the field. He then went back to work in the show. Upon the conclusion of the show the crowd stood and cheered. It was a good performance. Marissa was loaded into an ambulance and taken the hospital. The good news is that the doctors reset her knee and she returned to the stadium on crutches. She is hopeful that she can return and perform. It will happen Marissa!"
