First hand knowledge it was really difficult. It’s harder if you get the early time slots. It would be impossible this year with state ending Tuesday night and travel home just to leave on Wednesday for GN. That’s missing class 5-6 Days - there is no time to do homework when you’re gone.

Hahaha. Well we’ve seen 75% of each band so the predictions aren’t totally wild guesses. Reputation probably influences judging at least a little bit too.

A friend has a child in this band. At BOA SA I was sitting in the lower section and noticed a strong flowery smell during their show. The guard had dipped the flags or sprayed a flower scent on them (guessing) so when the flags were waved the scent wafted up into the stands. I asked my friend about it but he didn’t know they did that. Do you know if they did that for every show? It went with the theme of the show.. I don’t recall the title but the props were large flower images. I didn’t hear any mention of it during the season.

The band I was impressed with at SA was Rouse. I think they are 5a so they won’t have State and can focus on BOA show. So far the list of bands seems to seal the top spots but a non State year band may be able to sneak in and contend.

Not saying you were making it up but I was on one of the sites two days ago and nothing was listed for 2018 fall. I will look again

How do you know this? Are you guessing? Some of the bands you listed don’t have public sites and have nothing listed but you show they are committed to one of the competitions.

When the band flew to Indy I flew to Vegas.

My bad. I thought Leander and Cedar Park moved up after 2016. Yes it was a very hectic time and understandable that CTJ skipped State and Bowie skipped SA.

Leander was still 5A in 2016. Reagan was the only 6A that competed in State, SA Super Regional and Grand Nationals from TX. At least the only to make finals in all three.
