Ahh. Did anyone get to see finals? Any thoughts/comments on any of the bands? I'm anxious as heck for UIL State on Tuesday to be here so that I can see these insane bands. Congratulations to Bell! Bring the eagle back to Texas! -

Yeah, that's great man. You all did have a great season. 11th @ BOA Houston, that rocks! I'm sure you all will break top 10 next year (if you go). As for area, you all had a great run. I don't want to start the whole "this band should have made it" debate, but I was there to watch you all perform, and it was just great. Thanks for an awesome performance!

Ahh TAFT! Have fun warming up at 6:50AM (complete sarcasm). Well, I guess you can't complain, it's STATE!!! Woop! -
I remember seeing a whole bunch of directors at pigskin, unless those were just techs or something. If they were all directors, then I would guess about 7-8 Their show was good. A lot of things still need to be cleaned though, but I think they can pull it off. They should do alright at state. I hate waiting for Nov. 7!!!!! AHH!!!!! HURRY UP NOVEMBER 7!!!! Does anyone else feel like this? I'm not even performing in a band, I wonder how the band students feel
-
Gosh.

I believe they would. Look at state 2004, SFA ranked pretty low compared to BOA Grand Nationals a few days later. This all leads back to the inconsistencies between judges when they judge. I hate that topic. I personally hate the politics of band, as does mostly everyone else. I think it's just awesome when a band no one has heard of owns a band with a great reputation. But to say that a band wins/advances/ranks well ONLY because of their reputation is disrespect to that program. Those students work just as hard as any other band, and I believe we should all respect them as we do any other band.

2006 UIL State Prelims SCHEDULE
jr520c replied to jr520c's topic in Past Contests, Events, and Festivals Archive
I know it's 2 years later, but would anyone happen to have the 2004 prelims schedule? thanks -
OK. Reputation as what? As being a GREAT marching band. They didn't get that reputation by not being great at what they do. Reputation only? So if they went out there and played the same scale up and down out of tune for 8 minutes while not moving at all, would they still advance because of their reputation? NOPE. Anyways, when someone falls, they just need to get back up and move on. Just like everyone should do! (Mr.k08)

Why are you so angry? lol. No one was dissing any certain band. The results at state still aren't going to change individual opinions. Good luck to ALL of the Area G bands attending state.

If Marcus and L.D. Bell were in the first block, I'd be there at 6AM waiting to get in. Either way, I'm probably still going to be there at 6AM waiting to get in
