  1. As long as they don't float they should be fine.
  2. Well the Alamodome has strict rules on what is allowed on the field. They just don't want anything being caught at the top of the dome, it can be hard to get those balloons down if they fly away.
  3. Balloons can not be used if they are inflated with helium, this includes any size. Marcus in 2011 had Balloons on sticks that made them appear like they floated so if Bowie has those types of prop's then yes they can use them if not then sadly no.
  4. Medalist: 1. Marcus (Hard to bet against them even with Drinkwater gone.) 2. Hendrickson (Too early in the season still a little sloppy, they get better near the end of the season) 3. Cedar park(show design always holds them back) Middle bands 4-8 Round rock (They would need to improve from Austin to Medal, possible.) Westlake Dripping springs Pflugerville Westwood Contenders: Berkner Cy falls Wakeland Waxahachie
  5. Well let me see if I can, their shows have been reminding me of a mixture between william mason and Tarpon which is not bad at all I love them both. I just think Rock hasn't hit a stride with it yet. My favorite show's from them were The Dragon & Acts of Light because they felt like a round rock show, it was unique to them. However, I understand every band has to shift and evolve based on what occurs over the years.
  6. I honestly think round rock was caught in the glitz and glamour of Grand Nationals. They have been trying to style themselves as that type of marching band and it just hasn't landed yet. What's clear is that they are a fan favorite, and everyone roots for them to place within the top five but remember that in Texas anything can happen and some bands might just shock you for example vista ridge.
  7. No way cedar ridge out of finals to good musically.
  8. Quick Review so far, praying for better weather. Vista Ridge: wow really coming for it this year, their sound was big and they looked great for late September. I also hope they focus on concept as GE becomes needed to keep up with the other top bands. This is a BOA show through and through no doubting that. Cedar Park: What is there to say this group never loses it's stride. They sound and look great they never miss those long brass hits which makes them look larger then they are. Well done, we will also see them in finals. Cedar Ridge: This group was musically stunning every year there is a show based on Arabian nights and many miss the mark. They seemed to be focusing on making state finals this year which they were on the edge in 2016. They have a real shot this year. They are like the Marian Catholic of TX its hard to see them missing finals tonight. Please Rain Go Away!
  9. Seven Lakes was impressive definitely silver medalist tonight. CTJ is always fantastic they have proven that the more show you have on the field early on, the better the outcome.
  10. After seeing some bands this month I believe that the finals bands should be the same as last year. The fact is that this contest is super competitive, and how bands like Hendrickson, Cedar Ridge, Vista Ridge seem to be a sure bets means that making finals here in Austin will be a real challenge. Churchill might be the only band that's on the edge but even then Churchill has a strong reputation and it's never a good idea to count them out.
