This exactly, every 5A cycle theres been a band that people want or think is going to finally best Cedar Park at state. Highland Park, Wakeland and recently Rouse/Leander. But every time a band gets close, CP find a new level. A higher ceiling that allows them to leave little doubt why they have the most 5A state titles. And it'll continue to happen I believe until they move up to 6A or have a radical director change, because the last one didnt phase them one bit. Argyle is improving rapidly yes, but so is CP every year and it will take a lot for someone to dethrone them.

Is there a prelims recap by chance?

Yeah I figured, right now Centennial is a lock especially after tonight. They look and sound really good and I have them in state finals. After that Aledo has consistently made state, Richland is having one of their best starts to a season in recent times and Azle has been a good suprise with how well they're doing this season. Colleyville also has a good chance here but with only 4 bands advancing I have them first out.

They also would have advanced last year had it been a state year for 5A. I think 2021 was an off year for many bands in general so I wouldnt put too much thought into results from 2 years since a lot can change for bands in such a short time. I will say Richland has a good chance of advancing if they can replicate their finals runs of the last 2 comps they been to. While their exhibition show today felt a bit tired and lacking energy they have shown they can turn it up when it matters most. I'd have them advancing along with BC, Aledo and Azle.

I know this might be a little crazy but what if LISD sends Rouse or Glenn to Grand Nats? Like mentioned they do like to send 2 schools to Indy and i'm not sure about Rouse but the staff at Glenn have talked about making a trip to GNats sometime in the first 10 years of the school opening. Im not sure if they would want to make it this quickly but its always a possibility. And it would be a great learning experience for the kids.

Every band in LISD South Vandy and Leander are in a similar situation, both just came off a very successful season and had some of the best and most energetic performances at Grand Nats. I'm sure both want to have a production that matches or exceeds the level they achieved this season and I fully expect both to come out swinging form the beginning Vista Ridge is definitely going to want a show that keeps the eagle in Texas. Their past 2 shows have been performed incredibly well and for sure they will continue to step up and achieve an even higher degree of success. Cedar Park just won state for a 3rd time in a row and last time they went to GNats they placed the highest out of all the Texas bands. Next season should be even better especially because they won't have to keep UIL in mind. I have a feeling that a full BOA show will likely give Cedar Park the results they want to have. Rouse continues their trajectory towards the top. Last years show was a fan favorite and this year they achieved 4th at state. This band will continue to push their boundaries and could very well find themselves in SA finals if all goes well. Glenn just came off their first state appearance in their short school history and got their highest placement at BOA SA so far. They continue to improve and although SA finals might be just out of reach it will be interesting to see how much they grow by the end of next season and how they set up the future. They could be knocking in finals in a couple of years at the rate they're improving at. Next season is going to be a fun one to watch!

Did the shadow panel have different placements? Would be interesting to see if the 7 judge panel gave a different outcome

Basketball by a lot I watch almost every game thats on TV. Favorite teams are Atlanta and Denver, sadly neither of them are in the final. I want Raptors to win though cause 3 straight from Golden State is a no from me dawg. I also play Super Smash Bros a lot and have gone to tournaments, but haven't won anything yet lol

Richland 2007 was the Halo Theme suprisingly! Really love that show Some of my favorites are: Reagan 2018 Fugue in G Minor Richland 2005 Aloft, Sleep and Incantation and Dance (honestly love all the music from that show but those stuck out the most to me) Haltom 2017 Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra Lawrence Central 2004 and Richland 2017 Danzon No.2 Broken Arrow 2015 Waltz No. 2 Avon 2017 Simple Gifts (I think i'm not 100% sure) I have more but I'll post them later

Yup Vandy, Hebron, Leander, The Woodlands, CTJ and Round Rock. Should be a great year for Texas in BOA!
