Spirit of Waxahachie Indian Band. 2005 - #11 at 4A State Marching Contest Prelims 2007 - Didn’t make 4A Area Finals. 2007 - #14 at TMEA Honor Band Finals 2009 - #8 at 4A State Marching Contest Finals 2009 - #3 at TMEA Honor Band Finals 2011 - #6 at 4A State Marching Contest Finals 2011 - TMEA Honor Band 2013 - #8 at 4A State Marching Contest Finals 2015 - #7 at 5A State Marching Contest Finals 2017 - Bronze Medalist at 5A State Marching Contest Finals 2017 - TMEA Honor Band 2018 - #12 at 6A State Marching Contest Finals Congratulations to all the finalist and especially VR. We are so proud of our kids and our programs progress, but it was humbling to be in n the big dance. Hopefully we can do better in two years.

I think our kids feel blessed and happy to be in finals. They have nothing to lose. Go give your best performance yet.

I’m not sure that Waxahachie qualifies as a “wealthy” district. We are 55% free and reduced lunch. Our band is very diverse and our dues are only $200 dollars with the boosters supplementing many of thiose dues. This is a huge win for us anyway you look at it.

LOL, maybe it was 07...we like to block it out of our memory!
-
Waxahachie missed in 09 due to one wonkey judge.

It’s a money thing.

Waxahachie is the reigning 5A TMEA Honor Band. Those kids play crazy well. It should help them in UIL.
-
Obviously or you would know neither LD Bell or Timber Creek advanced to state. Replace with Waxahachie.
-
It’s going to be a bumpy ride to finals. Very little margin for error!

WOW, Waxahachie is known for playing ridiculously difficult music and marching at the same time. The program has a philosophy that kids should move and play. I’m almost certain that except at only a couple hits, at least part of the kids march in the entire show. Good Lord, some of those poor kids low crawl half way across the field, stand up and play. This thread needs to be deleted. FYI, the Waxahachie kids will tell you Keller beat them fair and square, regardless of what UIL says. They also felt bad for Timbercreek because in 2009 they missed state because of the scores of one judge and have heard this story numerous times. Hachie staff helped Ducanville with their sound board. I hope UIL never looks like BOA because it isn’t about the music as much as the extravagant.show. Stop whining it doesn’t reflect you or your band in a good light. We will see how all this pans out at state with brand new judges. Good luck to all Area B bands.

Ok, move on to 6A state!
-
LOL, it’s a good thing you aren’t a judge because you have NO CLUE about musicality. I have heard the Waxahachie show numerous times and it was as perfect as I have ever heard it. Keller was amazing. Prosper was amazing. Sour grapes.

I heard 1-7 were very, very close! Anyone’s game!
-
My kid is in a band and I think they are wonderful and “the best”! However, your apparent bias is showing. Keep it real!
-
I ❤️ Band Parents! Come Saturday, I will cheer and clap for all those kids who have worked so hard, but my fingers will be crossed for my beloved Spirit of Waxahachie! Good Luck and clean runs!
-
Well, I would be interested to know how many practices, prelims, and performances were canceled for each of the bands. Could this crazy weather have an effect on the outcome Saturday? It has certainly been hit or miss with different contests.
-
Waxahachie was on fire tonight at DMI. We band parents always love our kid’s shows, but most of the audience gave them a standing ovation. Let Area B commence...

On a positive note, you may or may not know that the final band to perform, who did so well; went home to a busted up band truck in a field. Like troopers they have carried on. Support has come in from the entire TX band community. I know the Marcus High School Boosters called and asked, “What do you need?” This common bond is what makes us great. BTW Marcus calls Waxahachie Baby Marcus. LOL

Please bold WaxahachieWaxahachie, they were bronze medalist at state last year. -
I did not see them at the contest and they aren't on the list of scores. Let me tell you, the field conditions were rough. I'm sure it made everything more difficult.

WaxahachieHS saw high winds. Kids cars were damaged and small band truck was flipped over in a field. Luckily they hadn’t gotten home from Waco.
