    Go to the 2019 5a thread and look for yourself. Not my rule. Admin’s aim is to keep the advancing students from seeing their prelims placements and being demoralized. This is why UIL keeps them under wraps until after the competition. I think we can put aside our vanity as spectators and just wait 24 hours so the students have their best shot at a great performance.

    Yes we have. This exact scenario happened in 2019 and the admin intervened a deleted it. Unfortunately it was up long enough for all the high schoolers to take a ss and send it out.

    Rooting for these bands again next week, I could totally see all 4 sliding into state finals again like in 2019. Wakeland may be shooting for first this time

    Yep Lebanon Trail in 2019, plus many others. It’s a whole new competition with unbiased judges so unknown programs are given an equal chance.

    High school number 11 is under construction in Frisco and will be named Emerson, it’s gonna relieve enrollment at Independence, which is about 40 students away from being 6a, as well as Liberty

    Upset in Area B, keep an eye out for Lebanon Trail in state finals

    Kind of surprised by Lovejoy down to 6th, but going into the competition it was pretty clear that there are too many good bands in area B for all of them to make state

    So it looks like only 10 bands will end up in state finals, but I still think 2-3 of them could be from area B

    There were 35 bands in prelims in 2017, but still only 10 went to finals. Unless the rules have changed since 2017 I think we still need 36 bands in prelims

    How will finals performance order be decided, is it backwards from prelims placements or is it randomized?
