yeah our second cut took forever. This was the first time bassoons took so long we actually had to take a break...

are you serious? Maybe that's why I did good...they didn't know what to listen for. What foreign language are you taking?

I made region! My goal this year was to beat one guy that always seems to edge me out, but he's not in this region anymore! I actually made first chair...*gasp* I was so shocked. Half the band was freakin out, cause no one expected it.

I think our football team does. The coach requests us to play certain songs cause he says it pumps up the players. NFL especially... The fans...not so sure. yeah we lost, but now I never have to play that sax again.

So Something always goes wrong with me at region, but this year takes the cake...so i have multiple stories. First, bassoons were after english horns and oboes, so we waited for 3 1/2 hours before we started. Meanwhile we had to entertain ourselves. I'm not even sure what I was doing, but i ended up taking a chunk of flesh out of my thumb with my other thumb nail. Anyone who knows bassoon, it was the left thumb...the worst finger to do something stupid to. Luckily the pain died down before we went in the room... After we got in the room, there were only 2 seats next to each other left, so one of the 3 bassoons from our school sat on the floor. When we were passing notes, he couldn't quite reach my desk, so he threw the book and hit my water that holds all my reeds. It went EVERYWHERE. One of my pages was completely soaked, but I managed to save the rest. I had to jump up and walk to the back of the room to grab kleenexs, and threw them all over my desk. Luckily for me the sheet that was ruined only had the last line of music on it, and it was a repeat of the beginning, so i was ok. The last one didn't actually happen to me, but during one kid's audition there was a power shortage or something and all the lights in the room minus the one right above him went off. The air stopped and everything, but he just kept on playing. The a couple seconds later, it came back on. It didn't even phase the kid. Crazy stuff...how about you?

I am so shocked...I actually made region, and advanced to area. Usually I get incredibly nervous and shake so bad that my vibrato is gross and i can't hit any of the keys...but I ate three bananas and it made my nervousness go away. The bad thing is I thought I would never have to play this music again, so I doodled all over it after i played it, and I spilt water all over one of the pages. Then we got the results back... hooray! congrats to everyone who made region, and who advanced to area. I'll c u there!

This wasn't a fall, but last year we were at practice and I was running back to our opening set. Usually I hold my tenor with one hand to keep it from putting alot of pressure on my neck, but i decided i could run faster if I didn't. I let go but when I did the hook on the end of the neckstrap snapped in half and my horn did cartwheels down the field. It never worked the same after that.

YAY LEANDER!!!!! Too bad I don't know what strength and movement mean... We have the highest strength there though, so I guess that's a good thing.

haha...I'm not into anyone right now. Never've gone out with ANYONE. I'm just too cool. Why doesn't everyone play the bassoon?
