WE NEED BARIS!!!!!!! Even if I couldn't march it... Next year our sax section should hit 20, so I'm not sure we've much of an option. Of course, that's with min 5 double reeds. At one point we had 9 tenors, but it's dwindled to 6.

I thought they did...oh well. My mistake. Either way it was incredibly close...

No kidding We performed at 9:15 (2nd). Then we went back to our bandhall, chilled for 2 hours, ate lunch, had a 2 hour rehersal to fix our prelims mistakes. We came back to RRISD stadium for the last 3 performances, then when they announced finalists we were quickly herded out of the stadium to warm-up block, cause we drew first. How did that happen, btw? Second in prelims, and first in finals?? Bad luck for Leander. Rumor is (dont know for sure) that we only lost to Akins by .02.

THAT'S SO COOL!!!! I'd be scared to march a bassoon, but I hate having to switch btwn sax and bassoon. How would you even do that with all the thumb keys?

I love our DM uniforms...hopefully that'll be me next year. Is drinking pickle juice really good for you?

I have finale 06, like the real deal. You can do it on there but i dont think you want to spend hundreds of dollars on old stand tunes...

i know!!! It's gonna kill me...guess my friday night is ruined. I think we'll make it to finals, even if we are second, but it'll be a heated battle for the top 5 slots! GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!

I know there are only a select few of us, but i was wondering what all you oboe and bassoon players do for marching season. At Leander we have double reeds on alto and tenor sax, pit, and drumline. Ive also heard that they march other instruments or do colorguard...

I'm in NHS and IB on top of band which takes up anytime you might have left over. Luckily there are like 23 IB students and almost half are in band, so I'm not alone... I was also in Key Club for a short time and want to get involved in FCA, but i don't have time during marching season. Oh, plus I'll be in the pit for the school musical too, but that's not till later... Wow, no wonder im so stressed...

I cant say i enjoy marching season much cause i have a back injury so carrying a 15 pound T sax is not fun. Plus the fact that i dont Actually play sax. Concert season is awesome though cause i get to go back to my bassoon. Our music the last 2 years has been awesome too so that helps. If you've never played Aegean Festival Overature than ur missing out.

I saw hendrickson at your festival early in the year. I thought it was a good show, but i only saw it from back field. You guys did well, though. Beat everyone by, what, like 3 points!?

Heck yes Leander made it! We haven't had good shows the last two years, so this is exciting...
