Leander beat CP. We're going on to playoffs, but I don't really want to. Apparently we're playing Bryan? Not sure, but if it's true it'll be a fun rematch.

We lost our homecoming game... Its the only game we've lost in district. 14-5A Competition is crazy though. Hopefully we make playoffs...

I cant wait to see them at BOA SA. I loved their shows from the last two years. I just hope our band will be joining them in finals on Nov 3...

That sounds like our band, but we also do section leader, librarian, dm, rep, etc... My favorite question is "If you were a household appliance, which one would you be?"

Congrats to the top three. That was quite a competition. Our placement was kinda a disappointment, but I'm not suprised. We lack those "blow you away" moments that most of the other bands have. Partially that's due to 46% of our band being freshman, but once they get more comfortable with the end of the show, we'll be able to pull out some better results.

A: IB History of the Americas II IB English IV IB Chemistry II Band B: IB Theory of Knowledge "Band Teaching Methods" (I don't really know what this is, but I just chill in the band hall) IB Calculus Band I don't really know how a school becomes IB but I think it's a great program despite the insane work load...

I football trick plays. I watched the Boise State OU game last year. That's my favorite. Does anyone have the classic video of the band running onto the field at the end of the game and the tuba player getting taken out?

I actually haven't applied to the music school yet. Just the school itself. I'll probably sign up for the Feb 9th audition date, but idk yet. I'm thinking Rice or Northwestern for grad studies... So do you live near Denton? Cause for me it'd be quite a drive up there for a`mentorship, although I do want to get a private lesson with the bassoon teacher. Do you have any of your compositions loaded to this site? I'd love to hear them. Your email address didn't work before...

I'm so excited that competition season is starting this week. First USSBA, then off to a BOA Comp.

Leander is totally gonna be there. I can't wait. This is one of my favorite competitions...

Wow there are more people interested in composition than I would have thought. I'm DEFINATELY doing band in college. If everything works out perfectly I want to double (or triple) major in composition and engineering and/or architecture and/or just plain math. After I get my bachelor's degree I want to pursue my doctorate in composition, though I don't know how far I'll get. I just applied to UNT this weekend, and I'm pretty sure that's where I'll end up going at least for undergrad studies...

we're half way through the closer, but we're probably not finishing it till after USSBA...

We had a rocket set last year. then the next set was "when the rocket took off"... This year some people think one set looks like a monkey, while others say it looks like a bird. We also have a chart that i use a hand motion for while saying "boing" or some other random sound...it looks like a "K". We also have a bunch of pod charts. And the chart "where the woodwinds hold forever."

This happened to us last year and it turned out it was a band kid, or former band kid, one of the two. The cameras in our band hall are broken, but lucky for us a camera caught the kids as they snuck through the commons area... I really hope you guys catch whoever is doing this...

Where do you find the recordings?

So our first performance was pretty good considering it was in the Alamo Dome. There was a minor tear at our tempo change but we held together and pulled out a decent first show, despite the reverb . I was proud of our underclassmen cause niether the freshmen nor the sophomores have ever been in a dome, and the jrs and srs haven't been in one for 2 years.

The rain slowed us down last week but we finally got movement 2 down. Our school only has 3 mvmts total and only 80ish charts when its all over. Right now I think we're at 45 or something like that. Next week we'll perform the second movement of our show for our game against Bryan.

Leander is 1-1. Our first game was delayed 2 hours for rain, so the band didn't perform, and the next one was in the Alamo Dome. We do better at away games than home...

no comprendo. That's sad considering that I've been in Spanish for 5 years now... How was your first day of school?

I've realized that I definately don't use the tip of my tounge, but my speed and accuracy of rythem haven't really suffered, so I haven't bothered to fix it...

Yeah that is cool. And I like these band bucks too...
