  1. That's a very good question. I have no idea what to do... All I know is that in the IB program one of the diploma requirements is an extended essay that also counts as our Sr. project, I think. So I picked music as my broad category and have pretty much decided that Tchaikovsky's 4th Symph is what I wanna study. After that though...idk. I'll probably end up comparing it to Beethoven's 5th or something.
  2. cause summer's starting to set in...*yawn* Why have I wasted the last month of my life?
  3. Symphony No. 4 Mvmt. IV- Peter Tchaikovsky I have to write a 3000-4000 word essay over it...and I have no idea what I'm doing.
  4. Yeah my favorite thing will probably be wrapping them. You can use rubber or thread and probably other stuff too, and there's so many colors and patterns to chose from. I will be entertained... So easily amused...
  5. Yeah no kidding, but I have no one to teach me. But it's ok cause I'll figure it out.
  6. of course!!! can i see it now?
  7. I agree. I really want to see it live this year. Last year I didn't get to...
  8. You forgot Firebird . An easy but still amazing bassoon solo. Oh and Trittico Boteceliano (sp?). Basically "O Come, O Come" from Christmas. I agree about Easter Monday...I didn't like it that much, but my sister loves it.
  9. I loved it but hated it at the same time. You probably should go see it... Why are there two other people with my birthday?
  10. There are so many good ones, but a few that stand out are: Aegean Festival Overture- So much fun to play, with an awesome slow section. Roman Carnival- Again so much fun to play. Probably my favorite actually. Feels very orchestra-y. Tempered Steel- Ive never played this one but I love to listen to it. October- Most beautiful song Ive had the pleasure to play. All Whitacre's music is great though. Festive Overture- Played it my freshman year. Don't remember too much about it except that I liked it. To Tame the Perilous Skies- We did this for our show last season, but the year before we played it for our Spring Concert. It's freakishly hard but I love it anyway.

  17. Ha I just got score and audio for our entire show next year. I'm excited. It sounds awesome, and I'm lovin the end of the second piece (which will remain unnamed ), but not so much the third. Hopefully they'll cut it or change it or something...
  18. I can't get the "American Elegy" link to work...I guess cause its really old, but i LOVE October. We played it Sophomore year and its amazing! But I love both composers in general...
  19. I used to be a librarian, and I'm still kinda an honorary librarian. My director came up to me and one of my friends at the end of freshman year and said "Anna, I want you to be librarian next year." Well we're both Annas and we didnt know who he was talking to so we both ended up being librarians. Now we're both DMs.
