What do the individual judges score for the three music scores? Which ones is woodwinds and or brass for example and which one is percussion? -

I'm scared to death about Timber. It would be a travesty. -

At somepoint something needs to change. It gets really boring with the same bands each time. I've heard frustrations from kids and parents. Some bands are preordained. There is obvious bias. -
2021 BOA DFW (Oct. 9)

I always wonder what the directors themselves think of the scoring. Are they allowed to call out some of the discrepencies or is it like football where the entire idea of critiquing the refs is the sacred cow you don't touch. -

And this is a problem. What we are looking at is two seperate competitions in finals. One for 7-12 and one for 1-6. The entire BOA structure is wack. -

For this year I honestly think Keller is ranked to high. I saw their show this past week and just was not impressed. I don't know if the year off took a step back or not, but they did not seem like the old Keller we are used to seeing. -
2019 BOA San Antonio

This happened to TImber Creek as well when you compare midland scores to SA. Though if you look at DFW BOA all bands that made finals increased their score at SA. -

Perhaps the judges thought flomo was just an odd show? I certainly did. -

I read that they took 7 from each panel for finals. Is that correct? So someone who scored higher in another panel lost out because of simple placement? -

Your marching fee is quite a bit higher than what our band charges. There are a few fund rasiers, but those are not targeted at the parents. The money does not go to the kids it individually it goes towards the band as a whole. We are also not required to buy t-shirts for the show those are all optional. We don't have matching water bottles, holders, or suits. We have a number of folks who don't pay even the basic band fee and if all those totals you listed was required for our program it would not succeed. Most kids rent their instruments. Very few pay for them out right. I totally agree with the friendships and memories. No price can be put on that. -

If they are not going to have semi finals for San Antonio they need to stop going over the 80 band limit. -

Keller ISD does the same thing. I would have to say for Flower Mound and Marcus the cost per student that is required to be spent is far and above surrounding highschools. Even the Lewisville HS band fee is quite a bit less. Part of Marcus and Flower Mound success is rich folks spending lots of money. -

UIL Scores mean very little when it comes to how BOA is scored. I wouldn't use those scores to predict SA and I don't expect any of the top three from Duncanville to win. -
My only issue is the coronation some of these Texas bands seem to get before they even perform.
