With area D only taking 3 bands to state it's sad to see John B. Connally didn't make state as their show this year was much improved from years before.

So what's all the new stuff that's been added?

I'm a trumpet player and I'm interested in auditioning for the cymbal line for a wgi group, I've gone to one audition camp and had alot of fun, everything seemed like stuff I could do and I learned the basics. But after the day my hands hurt alot, that won't stop me but is there any advice someone could give me? For the next audition and in general for cymbals

They only have a dance team, they dont use any equipment

As DSbandnerd pointed out Dripping springs has a UIL built show, as it seems most bands in Area D have UIL built shows. It'll be interesting to see how this competition plays out, although yes I dont doubt the top three will be Weiss,Dripping Springs and McCallum everything below that will be interesting indeed

If a band wins their class but does not advance to the finals portion of the contest they will perform in exhibition, if the band Wins their class and Does advance to finals there will be no exhibition. The "If needed" portion applies to the first part of my comment. If needed means that if we need to have a band in exhibition there will be. If the band makes finals they won't need to have an exhibition.

By what was seen at TMC they seem to be the size of Rouse last year so maybe they still are AA it seems the band only has about 70 students marching

It seems that three bands Will Advance to State from Area D

After beating dripping springs at Vista ridge and seeing how well they did at region 26 (apart from some sound issues) they could even be Top 5 in finals at state

If a band gets a 2 over all then yes but if you get a rating of two 1's and one 2 then you still can go to area

Hendrickson would probably be in finals but UIL region is also today and they were the second band to perform so it would make sense that they pulled from finals all together

Apparently Pflugerville is 5A now so would we be seeing them in finals?
