My predictions for finals In no particular order Wakeland Rouse Cedar park McCallum Weiss Dripping springs Only 6 because I cannot think of anything others, I've only been to a few competitions this season and haven't been able to go and see everyone but these are 6 that I know definitely can make finals

Man the drive to st.louis is exhausting to say the least, if they're taking charter busses they'll need all the sleep they can get. Although charter busses are comfortable it's still a bus nonetheless. Good luck to all the bands going I'm keeping an eye out for all of them.

I've got no idea how you math people do all this but all this talk about visual scores got me thinking about it so I went to the prelims recap on hornrank and looked at the top 5 in visual performance (it's actually 6 since there was a Tie for 4th place which surprised me) 1st Ronald Reagen 26.10 2nd Vandegrift 25.42 3rd Rouse 23.92 4th Leander/Weiss 23.48 6th Cedar Park 23.33 Speaking of converting scores from TMC to BOA how do you do that? (I wanna know for future reference it'll probably make my brain hurt but atleast I'll know the process)

I really do think the top 3 could me McCallum, Weiss and Dripping Springs. If anyone wants to know here's some of my thoughts on these Three, Dripping Springs: Starting their season Strong at the Cap city marching Competition they came in Second Place with an 84.8 and taking the guard Caption. Then continuing to the Vista Ridge Marching festival Tieing for 3rd Place with an 82.4 and taking the Marching Caption in prelims. Nothing much needs to be said about Dripping Springs After placing 2nd in the 2017 5A state contest I don't think it'll be hard for them to place top Three. McCallum: A very very interesting season for them so far, Coming in first place at The Cap City marching contest And the Lost Pines Marching contest Taking most of the captions at these competitions. They have a very good season this year and I don't doubt it will continue to State. Weiss: The up and coming 5A school that everyone seems to have heard of, This year they started their season With the Vista ridge marching Contest and took the captions of Percussion and Music in prelims and First in class 5A then coming in Second place with an 83.2. They this past weekend they took 11th place at the Texas Marching Classic barely missing finals by .088 (their score being a 77.925) it'll be interesting to see how they do at Area and State if they are in the Top 3. These are just some of my thoughts if I missed some information please do correct me .

I don't know actually, if it is I don't doubt it'll just add points. But probably not as judging starts once the clock starts, but it is a nice way to keep the judges attention on them at all times.

At TMC Weiss came in 11th place just barely missing finals by .088 with their score being 77.925. I think we could see them in finals and maybe top 5 they placed over Dripping Springs At Vista Ridge and placing 11th at a competition like TMC isn't something to be overlooked. They had an early performance time (10:00) and still were able to pull off an impressive run despite the cold and having to be at their school at 5:00am. I think they'll place well.

I think their early performance time was what affected them, they performed well.

Man cedar park, sounding good as always what else can we expect

Really interesting show those woodwind runs sounded really good in my opinion

1. Weiss 2. Dripping Springs 3. Pflugerville

I honestly wouldn't know, maybe since they were schools who went later in the day everyone gets move so their spaces are empty anymore

Since two bands are pulling from the comp are times going to be changed or will there just be some empty spaces

I've been told from students that Georgetown high school has also pulled from the competition, that's two schools already out.

So far just those 10 are going unless there was an update to people attending

I mean that's not to far fetched so

I feel like this is what we'll be seeing on Saturday, Any of the top three would win it, the scores will be pretty close though.

I'm looking forward to seeing how connally does this year they've got some snazzy new outfits and I don't doubt it brings up their confidence

As this competition approaches I think it'll be a fight for top for between Weiss,Dripping Springs,Lake Travis and McNeil. All groups see to be performing well at their games and at the competitions they have attended and it's going to be interesting to see them all in one place. They're all making very good sounds and are really pushing themselves to be the best they can I really think there could be a tie in placements but that's just my brain going off on what ifs. This is going to be an interesting year For the Vista ridge marching festival.
