CP's woodwind feature! Maybe a little biased... I love Reagan's opener (they have a insane woodwind feature as well).

Do not sleep on Wakeland. They sounded beautiful at BOA Dallas and were very clean, beating the likes of Coppell and Waxahachie.

I heard they didn't have their best run in Austin prelims. That, combined with their early performance slot, is likely why we didn't see them in finals. I'm really hoping for a Round Rock comeback. I love the concept and hope they can execute it to their best!

From what I know it became very popular this year. The servers actually crashed on August 1 as many Central Texas bands (Vandy, Leander, CP, Rouse, Vista Ridge, Bowie) are using it.

I think the biggest change we had was the length of the preshow (the part with the narration). They made it shorter and less drawn out than it had been the past few weeks. From what I remember, I believe that was the only major change.

For the past few years, UDB has completely taken over the marching band world. From DCI to BOA, tons of marching bands have abandoned the old-fashion dot books for UDB, a virtual dot book all on your cell phone. Cedar Park is in its first year of using it, and I must say it has made learning drill so much easier. Who else is using UDB this season?

I believe this will be the last cycle where Cedar Park has potential to be a 6A. The past two cycles it has been very close (I believe they were only about 20 students away from 6A in 2016), but the area has been completely built out with no more room to build new homes. The new zoning plan for LISD (which will mainly effect middle school zoning) won't heavily affect CP, but I believe that we will hover around 2,000 students for a while.

After I graduate my parents are considering moving there. The new Leander homes are beautiful!!

And 2015! I believe it was Leander who beat CP in area that year.

Lake Travis performed right before my band (Cedar Park) did in prelims. They sounded so good! And that opener... wow.

We are also seeing the sudden change of design from the past few years to this year because of another staff change in the color guard. Sullivan had a huge say in what we saw from Cedar Park the past decade.

I was happily surprised to see McNeil and Roma do so well. I'm so excited to see how they will progress into November, and maybe we will see Roma in SMBC Finals??

Haha, I do believe they can! They are definitely a sleeper for a good year. I do think they might have a chance for top 6, but they are definitely a finals lock.

Unfortunately I'm not allowed to send any footage, but I got to see Round Rock's full run from a few days ago... all I can say is that they're going to have a bounce back year for sure. Maybe even top 6 at Grand Nats.

I can't wait to see it all in action!

There are a few middle school guards in the state, but not a ton. Cedar Park MS is the only middle school with a color guard in Leander ISD. The program isn't that big on cost from what I know and would be very affordable for other LISD schools. Very odd.

I'm particularly excited for what Westlake will do with their props. I have heard that they are using Pride of Cincinatti's WGI props from last year (the doors). I can't wait to see Leander's props as well, I've heard they're doing some really great things.

Yes! I heard they had over 100 musicians make the All-Region Band last year.

I really hope Coppell can push for finals, both here and in San Antonio. I would love to see them have a breakout year, they are easily one of the most talented band programs in the state.

Does BOA have a reclassification like UIL does every few years?

The Woodlands has some awesome uniforms. Perfectly blends traditional style with a modern feel.

And hopefully another Class AAA medal sweep in prelims

Thank you so much! We have been rehearsing and working very well this year, so we're hoping it pays off. Last season, GE took us out of SA Finals, so the show design and every detail of the show has been upped to the max. I really hope we can return to finals alongside our fellow LISD bands!
