Some major shift ups in SO at TCGC Pearland, huge point drops from WGI New Braunfels last week and Cy-Fair comes out on top over Clear Brook, Pearland, and Dawson. WGI NB- Pearland- 78.75 (1st) Cy-Fair- 75.00 (3rd) TCGC Pearland- Cy-Fair- 67.6 (1st) -7.4 Pearland- 65.5 (3rd) -13.25 There is usually a difference between TCGC and WGI scoring and of course you cannot compare contest to contest, I just thought the massive change in both scores and placement was interesting. There also was a judge missing at NB but that doesn’t usually have a huge effect on score. It’s gonna be an interesting season, especially going into WGI Austin next week, exciting! Can’t wait to see how things turn out in all classes for our Team Texas guards! @packwick would love to hear ur analysis going into WGI Austin!

Bowie got penalized allegedly for having two unauthorized parents on the field during prelims.🙃 Sucks but at least it didn’t take them out of finals, just wish they would’ve been more cautious as BOA is very serious when it comes to parents having field passes and it did take them down 1 place.

Really wonderful performance from my alma mater, best run of the year from them by far. The bulldogs want it really bad I can tell. Will it be enough? I really couldn’t say, but they gave their absolute max today. So happy they’ve found their footing in this post-covid era and I know they won’t slow down as they have some really great kids and incoming classes on the way. Phenomenal season for them so far and whether or not that was their final performance of this year, they should be very proud because I couldn’t be more so. ❤️🖤

Yeah saw them at Bedford and knew they’d likely make top half here. Seeing Aledo now makes it no question in my mind that they’re in top half, completely deserved that 🧹 earlier today! Could see them in Top 5.

I’m gonna take this chance, Because Waco.

I will admit that Dripping placed lower than everyone (including me) expected, especially after their strong showing at the Central Texas regional. However, invalidating every other bands performance and accomplishments from last night just because DSHS didn’t place where you wanted/thought they would is entirely unfair to the hours of work put in daily by these band members. I’ve seen this same mentality on numerous other platforms and competitions where people invalidate an entire competition by just saying “judging bad” or “how did this band beat that band”. This is just as unfair to Vandegrift or Rouse as it is to DSHS or Hendrickson. All bands should be incredibly proud of the work they put out yesterday at TMC, the show was phenomenal and a great preview of many attending the upcoming SA Super. Excited to go to the Waco Regional this Saturday and best of luck to all bands, it will be a show to remember. In the end, it’s just band.

I'm confused as to what's going on with Marcus this year, does anyone know for sure if they're going to worlds or not? on their Instagram they have the ntca champs listed as their last competition but on the wgi site they're still listed as attending worlds. I hope they are going but I'm not sure because of what they themselves have posted. either way, they would def be up there in SO.
