I'm pretty sure based off the reported numbers that Lakeview will be moving down to 5A actually, which bodes well for their state chances!

The woodlands probably aren't gonna win but man is their show just so fun. AND DID THEIR GUARD DROP ANYTHING TONIGHT??? HOLY SMOKES GUARD. Bravo to all, a fantastic performance TWHS!

Is it full music? I know, at least in 2019, JD shaw would write the woodwinds/brass and Markworth wrote all the percussion stuff.

Where does the Woodlands get these crazy trombone soloist every year?!? Side note, I fully expect to see some variation of these props in Bluecoat's show next year.

It's just such an edgy different show for Marcus but with the professional visuals and beautiful sonority they create. I mean between the incredible percussion, prop kids picking up swing flags to take up the field, those brass soloists. I hope that this show gets the credit it deserves because man is it a magnificent product.

Yeah this is my favorite marcus show in years. It's not even finished yet but I'm convinced.

Saw online that Lancaster vs North Mesquite is postponed until tomorrow and supposed to kick back up at noon at Mesquite Memorial Stadium. Which kinda puts this marching contest in an interesting spot.

I havent kept up with any of the bands attending here recently but I imagine forney will win. Can’t seem to find any video of them on the youtube but their results have been pretty good. Poteet looks pretty good, possible upset? Doubtful but I’m a fan of some friendly competition!

Is there a schedule for this anywhere? Probably gonna watch prelims and then go to area b finals

I also think that will mean 10 finalists if theres more then 20 that qualified, even though there will probably be less then 20 bands actually at the contest.

Am I crazy or as of right now there are 29 bands in this area with a 1 rating and the last remaining region is 31 with only 5 6A varsity groups so the max they can send is unfortunately only going to be 6. I don't believe Coppell Non-varsity counts towards the number.

True but a lot of the finalist groups for Area C go pretty early.

Bell was 1st overall in prelims, wakeland was 3rd

Does the soundtrack match the movie and vice versa. And how well does it read to the audience and judges.

I was just thinking the same thing. Would hate for this account to be a Rouse student coming on here calling vandegrift "mid". Those directors in that district have built of such a supportive community for eachother that I'm sure the directors at Rouse wouldn't be happy if this was indeed a student of theirs.

My apologies, I didn’t mean to come off as rude or condescending. I will say I agree. Coppell has definitely gained some ground but you can tell they aren’t putting as many resources into their show as last years. Makes sense considering all they’re doing is UIL this year. I get it with their wind ensemble performing at midwest, they shifted focus. Wakeland being this close with 3 NEW DIRECTORS is bonkers. I fully expect both of these groups to keep making more ground in the years to come.
