These are all MY personal "You know when your a band nerd when.." moments
-When you dream of marching your high school's show and have the exact spots hit right (I did that at the end of last year's marching season)
-When you come up with a name for your instrument (Mine is Claire Annette..gee, who would have guessed?)
-When you and your friends walk in step down the school hallway
-When you roll step to get through a puddle of water, praying it won't get your feet wet (which I did..and it worked!)
-When you come up with key words in relation to the current year's marching show to ask simple questions (for example: "Zarabanda?" meant "What time is it?" or "How much longer until the end of practice?" my freshman year, when our show was "The Music of Karl Jenkins")
-When someone else can come up to you and ask, "Hey, you got any 3.5's?" and you know exactly what they're talking about
-When you know who "Herman" is (Almost everyone went to the one junior high we have in our city, and Herman was our jr.high band director's tuner..he was replaced my 8th grade year with Herman the Second)
-When you realize that when your band director doesn't repeat everything three times (ex: "Don't forget black socks!" x3), you forget what he said to bring or to do
-When you have a strange looking tanline from where your leg and your socks meet (I'm a clarinet player,so I don't have the neckstrap thing going on)
-When you know the few basic rules of the CHS Band: Don't speak unless spoken to, never sit where the upperclassmen sit (we tend to sit according to our chair arrangement last year, lol) when you're an underclassmen, never move another clarinet player's instrument in the cubbyhole so you can put YOURS there and to never ever play another person's instrument unless asked to directly from the band director
-When you have to plan your StuCo meetings around band practices (I'm StuCo VP, so I can do that! Hahaha)
-When you have a 'parking spot' in the pick-up area by the band hall (there are no real parking spots,FYI)
