  1. You know, when I was a baby, I got really sick and the docs thought I had meningitis, too. It turned to be a really bad virus that made me sick and everything. Anyway, point is, I'm sure she'll be okay. Just because a pediatrician says it COULD be meningitis doesn't mean it is. Just keep up the good faith, and I'll be praying for yall as well
  2. none of the above. I don't like apples OR grapes..I only like strawberries =] Why is it really hard for me to get past a D in Intro to Psychology even though I understand the material and I love the class?
  3. You went to the band concerts? Ha, you probably saw me then! Anyway, Mr.Tate's last year was my junior year and we got kind of angry because he didn't wait one more year and actually told GP he was the assistant before he told us he was leaving. One of the GP people my friend knows texted him and told him what was going on and we were like, "WTF?!" It sucked a ton because was was awesooommmeee and actually gave me awesome clarinet solos for spring concert and spent time trying to get me to be more of an extrovert..haha. I spent my senior year with the former assistant and even though we got along, it was nothing like Mr.Tate. I wonder if he still repeats everything three times.....
  4. Sheesh, talk about rude bands/crowds...I was lucky enough to only have to experience that once with one school. I forgot who it was, but a couple of years ago, as we were walking towards the opposite side of the sideline to begin our halftime show, we got booed by people in the stands. Then, to make matters worse, the cheerleaders were complaining that we needed to 'get off the field' as we were waiting for their show to end (the front two lines stepped up to the outer field while the other band was performing because they were taking up room) and called us some very rude names and a couple of people from my band talked back and called them skanky or something. Then they barely talked to us at the officer visitations. Needless to say, it sucked, but at least their band got a 4 at UIL while we advanced to 4A area that year. Haha..mean, I know, but I found the humor in it
  5. I'm really proud of Galena Park too...I saw them last year when my old high school played GP, and they were pretty amazing. You can tell they are all really dedicated to the band program. I think they're the State alternate this year too, which is AWESOME. Good job to everyone who made state!
  6. Yay..my old band didn't get last place! They didnt make it to finals, but whatev. I'm still proud of them for actually going this year because they didnt last year when we were supposed to go; SAT dates suck
  7. waiiiiit...you guys were smaller than Channelview's band? Wow. I'm amazed! I have yet to see CV's show this year, so I have no idea what to expect anymore
  8. does anyone have the full results of the contest?
  9. Yay..I'm so happy that GP made it to finals! I'm sad they didn't make it to state, though...but I'm sure they'll go one day soon
  10. "Kiss Me" from New Found Glory...it's a new spin from Sixpence None the Richer's song from the 90s. It's awesome =]
  11. Since when did region 9 enter Area F? Did I miss something last year during the region alignment?
  12. TTR: No classes until 3:30 today...gosh, I love college
  13. The Galena Park field is turf, but it was my favorite turf field to march on because it almost feels like real grass. Uhm, I don't really know how to describe it though..sorry
  14. to answer "hey band"... ..."HEY WHAT?!?!" Man, I miss that. I got to do that my senior year and it was fun to meet new people. I actually go to college with one of the people I met last year during the band visitations
  15. it was freaking freezing yesterday in Austin...and rainy & windy...but it beats sweating buckets just trying to get across campus, so I love it! I had to bust out my hoodies, and it was awesome. I also learned somethings..like, Starbucks has amazing White Chocolate Mochas (thanks again for the gift card, Mom!) and that the hot chocolate in my dorm is nasty and a waste of $1.50
  16. Of course, I've heard of Friendswood and Dickinson. They advanced to state both 4A years I participated in and gave me goosebumps every time I heard them. If I remember correctly, my high school band even stayed after the game to watch Dickinson's show when we played them a couple of years ago. Anyway, it was really good, and I'm sure they're going to make it to the state competition yet again if they continue to be as great as they were two years ago and don't get pounced by Galena Park and yes, I've heard of Galena Park...my old high school played them in football and our the head band director from my school is now the assistant there. Anyway, they've gotten pretty good over the last couple of years..even better than some 5A bands in region 19. if they don't make it to the top this year, just wait until the next 4A year. OoHhH CE King, well, I haven't seen them much since my band was put into the 5A division, but I hear they got straight one's. Good job =]
  17. I'll admit, I'm pretty shocked to see that C.E. King and Crosby made a 1..back when I was a freshman (and Channelview was the region 19-4A powerhouse in marching when they were still 4A), they would always get 2's and such...it's amazing how a few years changes, because both bands (especially Crosby..I haven't seen CE King in awhile) have gotten significantly better! I'm surprised not to see Galena Park, especially because they've gotten tons better in the last few years as well. I'm not surprised to see Friendswood and Dickinson again. They advanced to state both years Channelview made it to 4A area, and i wouldn't be surprised if they did it again. Area F usually advances 2 bands to state, and I'm sure it'll be Friendswood and Dickinson again. They're just that good.
  18. I wish I could go and see my old high school band, Channelview...but I dont think I can make the trip from Austin AND manage to get studying done for my psych midterm..haha
  19. MWF--Chem 304K from 8AM-9AM Math 303D from 10-11AM TIP Critical Thinking Seminar from 1-2PM TTH--Intro to Psychology from 3:30-5 College is freaking awesome =)
  20. I'm very sad. Not only did my high school lose homecoming (which is tradition since we won last year) but UT lost against OU by a touchdown. I screamed into my pillow--yeah, I decided to go home to Houston instead of Dallas to the Cotton Bowl-- when OU intercepted the ball during the 4th quarter. Mack Brown's call to put Colt McCoy in there a week after he had a concussion was horrible. Ugh.
  21. I wish I could have gone to see my old high school band (Channelview). I had to get my stupid brakes fixed before I go back to Austin later today so I couldn't go
  22. Um yeah..my high school's football team lost tonight. I have no idea what their record is though because I'm paying more attention to the TEXAS LONGHORN FOOTBALL TEAM By the way......IT'S 12:12, AND OU STILL SUCKS! If you dont go to UT, sorry if you think I'm totally nuts. If you do, well...haha
  23. TTR: COLLEGE, being done with all of my college tests for the next two weeks, and getting tickets to the UT vs Kansas State Game =)
  24. I just found spoilers, and they're real ones. I didn't even finish the 4th book of the series (and didnt bother catching up), but I can't believe how the series ended! I won't give anything away, but yeah...considering the last book I read WAS the "Goblet of Fire," I was surprised at how things ended up in the epilogue. Oh well
  25. forget the AP test. It sucks. The end
