  1. I'm surprised no one talked about Boston's score from a couple of nights ago. They got an 86.050 last time which is so far the closest a drum corps has gotten to 90 this season.
  2. Do any of ya'll think Carolina Crown will hit the 80's in scores tonight? Blue Devils already have, so I'm curious to see how it will play out tonight. Also noticed that The Mandarins passed Santa Clara Vanguard in scores as well. If we were to base the scores as of now, here is how it stands- As of (7/06/2024)- World Class- Blue Devils- 80.600 Bluecoats- 78.750 Boston Crusaders- 78.450 Carolina Crown- 77.950 Phantom Regiment- 77.500 Mandarins- 76.600 The Cavaliers- 75.900 Santa Clara Vanguard- 75.900 Blue Stars- 74.100 Colts- 73.150 Troopers- 71.450 Madison Scouts- 71.350 Blue Knights- 69.600 Pacific Crest- 68.650 The Academy- 65.500 Seattle Cascades- 61.650 Yet to Compete (Crossmen, Genesis, Jersey Surf, Music City, Spirit of Atlanta) Open Class- Blue Devils B- 63.850 River City Rhythm- 61.600 Spartans- 60.400 Gold- 60.250 Colt cadets- 59.300 7th Regiment- 53.350 Impulse- 51.250 Vessel- 51.050 Blue Devils C- 46.700 All Age Class- Reading Buccaneers- 76.950 Cincinnati Tradition- 74.950 Bushwackers- 74.450 Hawthorne Caballeros- 74.300 Connecticut Hurricanes- 68.100 Fusion Core- 66.300 Govenaires- 66.000 Sunrisers0 64.200
  3. hey everyone, I'm excited to say that I plan on attending this contest this upcoming season!
  4. I'm going to love this season! Whoever ends up winning it all will not effect me one bit because all of these groups are doing amazing!
  5. well we are getting very close to the beginning of summer band camp and I am really excited to see how many bands will advance to state from each area! Below is my guess as to how many bands, plus which bands I could see advance from each area- Area A- If they keep it split like last year, then I don't see any major changes as to who advances, but these are my predictions- JM Hanks Lubbock-Cooper Lubbock Area B- This area will have a very interesting outcome, but overall, I see Wakeland and Lone Star being "locks" and then the final two spots being between McKinney North, Lebanon Trail, Argyle, and possibly The Colony? But here is how I see the results- Wakeland Lone Star Lebanon Trail Argyle Area C- this area has a huge change with Pine Tree and Forney both leaving. I feel that Lakeview Centennial will be the one to win this area, followed by Mesquite Poteet. But here is my predictions- Lakeview Centennial Mesquite Poteet Highland Park North Mesquite (If they send 4) Area D- This area will be interesting because of the way each band has a great chance of advancing. I think we will definitely see Hendrickson, Pieper, and Lake Belton advance. Then from there, I could see plenty of bands take the final spots, but here is what I predict- Hendrickson Pieper Lake Belton McCallum New Braunfels Jack C. Hays (If they send 6) Area E- This group had the biggest change for the upcoming season, and I think we could see a good amount of bands advance. Personally, these are the bands I see advancing- Friendswood HS A&M Consolidated Barbers Hill Kempner Porter Area F- This area will most likely send 5 bands to state, or even 6 if things work out well. These area the bands I see advancing- Aledo Burleson Centennial Richland Colleyville Heritage Birdville Azle or Fossil Ridge (If 6 bands advance) Area H- With this being the last area, I really hope they are able to send 4 bands to state. I don't see much change happening, but I do think Glenn will take it this time- Rouse Cedar Park Leander Glenn or Liberty Hill (I actually could see Glenn winning this time)
  6. personally, I feel we won't see them win the area just yet, maybe next year. But we will have to wait and see. I really hope they return to state!
  7. as of right now, I could see them place in the top 3 if they keep it up right! Also, their closer is probably one of my favorites of all time, close to SCV 1989!
  8. yes! Their show is SOOOO GOOD! The music is so interesting, but their opening hit is so different to what they have done in the past. As they say, it truly echoes
  9. they will be the first drum corps I'll be watching for this season
  10. I'm so excited to watch The Bluecoats!
  11. Hello everyone! Over the past few years, I have been working on a project that would help secure the results of ALL Area contests from over the years. Today is the day that I am officially giving everyone the link to the document. I spent these past few years typing out each result into specific sections to hopefully make things easier to find them. They are all judge placements from 1st place to however many bands participated in the contest. As of now, I have been able to get all the way back to about 2000/2001 in terms of every band that was at the contests and 1999/2000 in terms of which bands came from the areas. If you have any other results from years before 2015 that aren't already in this document, feel free to email me or send me a message on here. Thanks to these awesome people who helped me with results!- @takigan- Helped me with finding 2007 stuff @J-Mike16- Helped me with typing/finding results (mainly for Area C/Area F) And especially to all those who helped me with the google doc I did before starting this project, without ya'll, this would have not been possible (This will be published to the web soon) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1F0A8R1wJZN3POAC-oHGGiwOiO0cWkt1lv73AuPLMiyw/edit?usp=sharing
  12. small update has been made for this contest- added- Large School- Frisco Heritage HS this makes things interesting because 6 of the 12 Frisco schools are competing at this contest. Depending on everything, it could be possible we see more of them! This could really help us see an early insight as to how Area could play out!
  13. I just realized that 2 of the 3 state advancers from last year for this area moved up to 6A (Fulshear HS and Foster HS). This opens up 2 spots for advancers to state which will make this Area a very interesting contest! I'm going to predict 5 bands that I feel could advance this year for this area- 1- Friendswood HS 2- A&M Consolidated HS 3- Barbers Hill HS 4- Porter HS 5- Kempner HS If this area is able to send 6 bands to state, then I will go with College Station as my last pick.
  14. Hey everyone, hope all has been well! Some new updates have been made, and some I forgot to mention- Dropped- Sherman HS Added- Small Schools- Whitewright HS Large Schools- Frisco Liberty HS James Martin HS Princeton HS Big addition to this contest is James Martin HS out of Arlington, TX! And the best part is I should be able to attend this contest this year so I can see how the results play out!
  15. a big change I noticed is that Westwood HS got moved from Region 21 to Region 8
  16. Melissa High School 2024 Show is called Pop-Up, a comic book themed show
  17. so it seems like Melissa ISD's stadium will be the home of this contest once again!
  18. So I looked at the Melissa Band calendar, and it shows that this contest is being held at their stadium. I know its not confirmed by UIL yet
  19. Also New format for this year!- There will be two divisions for competitions: the Small School Division and the Large School Division. The top four small schools will advance to the finals, and the top 12 large schools will advance to the finals. (If a small school is in the top 12, it will have the opportunity to be placed within the large school or small school division for finals competition.
  20. Well a new update has been made to the contest and this one adds another 6A band into the mix, and this could possibly shake up predictions!- New bands added- 3A- S&S Consolidated HS 6A- Rock Hill HS
  21. Melissa getting 2 Area contest's? That's cool but I do agree with you that its odd
  22. can't wait to see how Cinco Ranch does this year! Did they mention what music they will feature?
  23. Well it looks like 25 total bands will be competing at this contest, and it looks like as of right now that an out of state band will be competing at this contest, Benton HS out of Louisiana! Bands added- 4A- Canton HS 5A- Benton HS (LA) and Lebanon Trail HS This contest is going to be a great chance to see some early competition between many 5A Area B bands and 4A Area C bands!
  24. can't wait to see how this show turns out!
