Rock Hill HS- Message in a Bottle- Great run from Rock Hill!! I really liked their music, especially in the slow movement! The giant bottle props was really cool! Their marching needs a bit a work, but Overall, they did great! Great performance Rock Hill!!

So since all Small Schools are done, here is my rankings- Celina/ Canton (both were amazing!) China Spring Sulpur Springs North Lamar Community Whitewright Italy Overall though, i really enjoyed all the small schools and can't wait to see what ya'll will be able to accomplish this season!

Celina HS- Royalty- Amazing performance Celina! Really great music and marched with great techniques. They really showed why they are the 2x reigning state champion in 4A. Amazing run Celina!

Canton HS- WOW! Canton is coming back with a vengeance this year and it will be interesting to see where they placed! They sounded great and marched very well! Amazing run Canton!

China Spring HS- Smiles- I really think this show has a lot of potential to possibly win state. The visuals looked really cool and I love the blue and yellow uniforms. They made a smiley face and a sad face as their opening sets. Overall, amazing job China Springs High School!!!!

Benton HS (Louisiana)- A Drift- A Siren in the distance- The uniforms look so unique! Makes them look like pirates. They brought out a chello, a pirate ship, and more! Their use of opening up with Can't Help Falling in Love With You was very nice! This show is legit one of the best shows I have seen this season so far. They even sang and told an amazing story! I'll make sure ya'll get the chance to see this show! AMAZING PERFORMANCE BENTON!!!

Frisco Liberty HS- Padma- That was an Awesome run! Their slow movement was played so beautifully that it made me tear up a bit. Their visuals were done well! Overall, I really enjoyed Liberty's performance!

Garland HS- Canary- Great run from Garland! I really loved the music for their show! They did great in their visuals as well! Overall, great run Garland! Also, RIP the Plumes.

Rowlett HS- Great run Rowlett!! Last time I saw them was back in 2022 and so much has changed since then. I really liked their music and was really impressed with their sound. Overall, great performance Rowlett!!

Jasper HS- (I didn't catch the title)- I wanted to start off by saying that I was really impressed with their performance. They sounded really good and had a lot of great techniques. They do have some work to do on the marching side. Their use of umbrellas as props is very unique since the guard used them. I likes the fluet trio in movement 4. Overall, I really liked their performance. Keep up the amazing work Jasper HS!!

Denton Ryan HS- (No Show Title Given)- Alright, i was very impressed with Ryan HS. They are very good visually and they sound really good! Their sets that visualize keys are really cool to see. They have a really good use of sound and their use of Bluecoats 2016 opener in the 2nd movement was played really well! Overall, i see them making finals tonight! Also, I really liked the color guard uniforms! Amazing performance Ryan HS!!!

Anna HS- Fan-Ti-See- First off, I want to say I really like the fact that they have the drum major podium on the field rather then all the way in the back. There is still some work to do musically as I kept hearing some tempo rushes from certain instruments. Their wall of sound though is AMAZING! They did very well in their marching, with a few individual standouts. Overall, great performance from Anna!!!

Lovejoy- Locked Away- They had a really nice show based of Repunsel. They sounded great musically, but there was a lot of individual marching issues. Overall I really liked the performance! Great job Lovejoy!

Independence HS- This Shining Night- Nice run from Independence! They sounded really good, especially the soloists. They did have a weird start, but other then that, a really good run! Great job Independence!

After a lunch break, we are about to return with Independence HS! 4 bands are apart of group 2, Independence, Lovejoy, Anna, and Denton Ryan.

Sulpur Springs- Neon Nights- I see what people mean by park and bark. The power is AMAZING! They marching with great techniques and sound amazing throughout the entire band. They were definitely a crowd favorite for Small Divison. The wind did catch the props and made a couple fall (I've been through that situation before). Overall, it was great getting to see another state finalist band this morning! Amazing run Sulphur Springs!

North Lamar HS- El Toraro- Great sounds from North Lamar! They are marching very well and it looks very clean really early on in the season. The musical techniques have been great so far for Small Divison! I really hope we see them in finals tonight! I see them making state this year out of 4A Area C. Overall, Great run North Lamar!

Community HS- Dia De Los Muertos- Great run from Community HS! The use of Remember Me was a great move on the directors! It was played beautifully! Community looks ready to take on Area C this year in 4A. One thing i will say is they need to work on tempo. Great job Community HS!

Lebanon Trail HS- Fascinating People- AMAZING PERFORMANCE!!! It is great to see a State Finalist band this early in the morning! They legit have a wall of sound that kept me engaged the whole time. I really enjoyed the marching visuals. Amazing run Lebanon Trail!

Frisco Heritage HS- Crazy Train- This show is really fun to watch! The train is a really cool prop as well! The power of sound from Heritage is amazing and it will be fun to see what more they do! Amazing job Heritage!!

Kaufman HS- The Echos of Egypt- WHAT A PERFORMANCE! The first large school to perform and they have brought it all! They sound AMAZING and are marching so well this early in the season! I really liked the visuals! I know it's early, but i truly could see Kaufman make state this year! Amazing job Kaufman HS!

Italy HS (I didn't get the title)- They have a very unique setup. Their version of we will rock you was very good! They are doing very well in their marching techniques and doing very well in keeping spacing. Overall, good job Italy HS!

Whitewright- The Marching Dead- First off, I love the title of the show! This band had wonderful sounds and techniques! The power the brass brought was really impressive. The marching was good as well! They kept towards the 30 yard line on both ends. Overall, great job Whitewright! Also, shout out to the tuba player! Played very well and with great sounds!

Melissa HS (Exhibition)- Great performance from Melissa HS! They sound really good live and are someone you don't want to miss. They look pretty good on the marching side, with some area's that still need a bit of attention. They only played movement's 1-3 today. Great Job Melissa!
