UIL Area D 4A
Dave609 replied to Skillet2019's topic in Past Contests, Events, and Festivals Archive
That is good to hear for Godley! Hopefully Saturday goes well for them! -
wait how do you know about Area A and G certifying two bands if they didn't have a Contest?
-
Also in 2006, they made an error in results where they had to put a note on it. So most likely they will put something on the state contest for 2020 due to there being one round for State
-
Yeah, 2002 and 1980
-
I think they put a note by the year. Like one year they had to cancel finals at State due to Weather, and so they put a note by that year.

That I am not sure of, But I believe that they may either do one year in Open Class and another in Military style, or they may stay in this new style during State Years -

Their show isn't fully Military this year, they have a mix which I think makes it interesting. They are doing Open class, not Military, so they had to switch it up some -
I agree with that. I wonder which bands they will be though
-
are you meaning State?
-
Yeah, there have been some programs that do better in Prelims than finals. Hopefully some new bands will advance to State

UIL Area C 2A/4A/6A
Dave609 replied to Dave609's topic in Past Contests, Events, and Festivals Archive
5A/6A Certification. In Conferences 5A/6A the music area shall certify the two bands receiving the highest ranking in each conference to the state marching band contest. Should fifteen or more bands qualify for advancement in a single conference for the area contest, one band for each five bands that qualifed for advancement to the contest shall be certified for advancement to the state contest. I see now, I completely forgot about Region 25 6A bands. Thank you for letting me know and I have updated my post!- 13 replies

Hey everyone, here is the Area C topic for the 2020 season! Some interesting results will be coming in, especially for 4A and 6A! For 2A, 5 Bands have qualified, so that means 3 bands are advancing to the 2A State marching contest. The 2A contest is also being held in the same venue as the 4A contest. For 4A, 11 bands have qualified for Area, so 3 bands will be advancing to State. Some big changes from Area C is that most of the Military bands are marching at the State Military contest, which means that some notable bands like Spring Hill will not be marching at the Area C contest. For 6A, 17 bands are performing at the Area contest, But more than 20 qualified for the Area contest, since Region 25 6A bands, which include Allen HS and Plano district aren't performing at the contest, so 20 bands had actually qualified for the contest, so 4 bands will be advancing to the State contest!

Hey everyone, so the contest schedules for Area E in all conferences have been posted on the Area E sites, so I thought I would make the topic for Area E. I'll be making them for Area C and Area D as well. It looks to be an interesting contest for Area E, with 5 bands competing in 2A Area E, 14 Bands competing in 4A Area E, and 10 Bands competing in 6A Area E. What also makes the 6A contest interesting is how both Area E and Area F are in the same stadium this year. So here is the topic for Area E, lets see who makes it to State this year!

2020 4A state predictions and results
Dave609 replied to jsantos107's topic in Past Contests, Events, and Festivals Archive
If anything, I feel that Godley would take 5th place to advance. The reason for this is because of how they have a show that looks like it is able to make it beyond Area and I feel that they have enough to prove that they are ready for the next step. The only two bands that I wonder that could make it are Burnet and Robinson.- 92 replies

I thought there was no finals??? And I would say that both Waxahachie and Coppell will be the ones to advance from Area B, I watched a video of Waxahachie and I have to say the show is impressive!
-
Yeah I can defiantly see those bands being locks for the 6A contest. Would be cool to see some new bands advance to the State contest as well! Give those bands the chance to march with the top schools in Texas!

ok. Sorry I got confused for a second there. Thanks for letting me know!
