I can agree with this I think they are not only the strongest performances of the day but their shows lean in a UIL direction. I think CTJ and Cedar Ridge had amazing runs and will probably be in finals but it will be hard to challenge the mentioned bands. I have a feeling Marcus will place higher then BOA SA based on historical out comes.

Agreed! I think we can all agree that this contest is top heavy. We will no doubt see some changes in the finalist at the bottom half.

Agreed! Vista was incredible i hope they will find away to recruit more guard. It is the only way to win BOA SA and even medal at GN. They are almost perfect just need some visual components.

The colors of Cedar Ridge are perfect! The acting is so intense every performer believes in the show that's what makes it so good!

Marcus never misses they are musically gifted the dome was so quite! Probably captivated I know I was!

I can't wait to see prelims scores I bet there will be some movement especially in the bottom half! Will be great show tonight all bands in finals are outstanding and finals will be non stop action!

At this point I have no idea who will be In finals for few confident ones: Hebron Vandegrift Marcus Flower Mound CTJ Reagan Those are safe in my eyes! Ok have to make my way to SA for finals. Need to leave now to get good seats!

Right now I am trying to decide where coppell will land. With hebron coming up I have no doubt they will place first in panel 2. This will push the rest down and put a lot of great bands out of top 5. So coppell is my wild card.

Plus we still have Marcus in panel 1 to go.

Right Now panel 1 is about to be very competitive! Going in I thought panel 2 would be more of the wild card but panel 1 has so many "possible" finalists. Round Rock at this time is the band i moved from solid finals to "possible". Very competitive.

My predictions of night 1 based on panels: Panel 1 Flower Mound CTJ Ronald Reagan Keller Round Rock Leander Panel 2 Vandergrift Vista Ridge Cedar Ridge Cedar Park Westlake Rouse

Keller is in panel 1 so will be facing the following bands Round Rock Leander Ronald Reagan CTJ Flower Mound Marcus

They are by time slot and are already determined. There are 2 panels each panel will grade bands and the top 5 in each will be in finals followed by the next 4 Regardless of panel. This allows judges the ability to judge fairly as their are to many bands to judge in one panel with the hope it will avoid some anomalies.

Keller is one of the bands that historically make it in so its hard to bet against them. Are they in panel 1?

TC was great! Honestly like a lot of people here I have been following marching band and BOA for a long time over 16 years and what I can say is...you just never know what the judges will decide. We predict a lot, and it was alot easier back in the day! Lol now everyone seems to be so competitive! Which is great 👍

What I love about CTJ is they always go all out when they perform. It sometimes can be a bit much but I have seen it work in their favor so I don't mind the singing.

I do not like the singing in CTJ show but other than that I love the show!

Yeah Vandegrift at this point really is the best performance. There have been alot of bands that played today and some great ones coming up but right now 5 really stick out in my mind: Vandegrift Vista Ridge Cedar Ridge Cedar Park Rouse Still waiting on Reagan, CTJ, and Flomo
