What an amazing day of Marching Band! I am so honored to have been here live and in person to watch day 1! These are my top 10 of day 1. Where they all fit into panels I have no clue, but what I have seen so far. Claudia Taylor Johnson Vandegrift The Woodlands Cedar Park Cedar Ridge Rouse Leander James Bowie Round Rock Keller

We are finally at the crossroads 😁 I have my tickets so now I will make my predictions. In Random Order! as really like everyone I am a little shook right now by recent events! Also, a few notes on some groups as I am sure many will question some placements. 1-4 Vandegrift Claudia Taylor Johnson Ronald Reagan The Woodlands 5-8 Hebron Vista Ridge (I have vista here because I believe their show does appeal to UIL rather than BOA. I could see them of course medaling but much work needs to done to drive up GE. They are super clean and that's why they won Area all of us here know UIL always favors clean cut over general effect. We will see if Vista can bring it home but for now I am only looking at the big picture.) Cedar Park - WILL MAKE FINALS!!!! Cedar Ridge Marcus 9-12 Leander Coppell Rouse - This group has momentum on their side also could see them higher but for now will play it safe . Keller 13-14 Round Rock - You can never count out RR - they are the group that made me fall in love with marching band! However, there is something missing this year. Seeing them at area did impress me they are playing strong and look fine but there is a lack of energy in their show design. Show design and musical selection are incredibly important to the success of a marching band. My old band director always said that it is the job of the directors to design a show that students can believe in and focus on making that show a stand out. I hope for the best and it would make me happy to see them in finals at Nationals! James Bowie Pearland Seven Lakes

definitely will be difficult on each schools road crew! if something were to happen that would cause a delay it would be a huge challenge to compete without their front ensemble or guard equipment. 10 years ago a very similar thing happened to us when attending BOA Conroe luckily are equipment arrived before finals. I can't imagine at such a stacked competition like nats things would go well in this scenario. -
Sorry for got to mention my top 10 are random order I have no idea as of right now how it will all play out but I will agree marcus usually has a strong finish at nats. I am interested in seeing how high blue springs will place. I know they came in 3rd their last showing I am assuming they wont place as high with all the Texas Groups attending.

Very Competitive year, which is always great! It will make it very hard to make finals this time around. Round Rock will have to do better than Marcus to call it safe if not then they can come in last slot but would have to fight with Wando & Dobyns-Bennett Bands 1-11: Avon Carmel Broken Arrow The Woodlands Flower Mound CTJ Reagan Blue Springs Williams Mason Vista Ridge Marcus 12: Wando Dobyns-Bennett Lawrence Township Round Rock Homestead Ayala Marian Catholic

UIL Region 26 was an amazing show case! many great bands that all have great potential. two bands that really are competing with each other are Round Rock and Westwood. Round Rock tends to do better later in the season once they have cleaned themselves a bit. When you have such a large group this can be a real hurdle but once you perfect this you can really begin to dominate example: Reagan. Westwood has the ability to move ahead of round rock if they don't peak early. Cedar Ridge is on another level this year they are small but as always come with power. I expect a repeat of 2018 and a state finals slot for this group. Area Top 3: 1. Ronald Reagan 2. CTJ 3. Cedar Ridge ---------------- 4-5: Round Rock, Westwood --------------- 6-10: Hays, Smithson Valley, McNeil , Churchill, New Braunfels PS: really shocked to see Bowie not competing this year it will feel like something is missing for sure.
