  1. I realize this will be an unpopular opinion. But the Texas bands have produced high caliber performances that fit the mission of MFA. They are not willing to at least consider a different location because to IN bands do not travel mark ch outside of their area. Except for the one time Avon went down to a Texas it's been crickets. Tx had bands in Orlando, St Louis, etc.....it's time to address the totality of the travel requirements of other states while the others get to sleep in their own beds. Many of the bands are flying to Indy. This major expense is never incurred buy Carmel, Avon. Hempstead, etc. Why can't the Grand Nats be floated or is it such a cash cow for MFA to keep it in Indiana regardless of the bad karma it creates?
  2. Will GN ever be pulled from Indy? I know that's the origin of the circuit, but for the most part SA is essentially GN minus a trio of bands.
  3. This year, as in previous years, Mineola is the clear favorite for a three-peat. Whitesboro is clearly positioned for another medaling spot. The remaining spots are up for grabs. Holliday could grab a medalist spot, Queen City, Atlanta, Redwater.....on and on. My question is......does the reveal of the new breakdown in judging favor one band over another. Who has the better percussion, the better content, etc. The 6th an 7th judge now can change the trajectory of the results. Would love to hear other thoughts.
  4. Agree with the other posters. Mineola seems to have a lock on 3A. This would be state championship #6 for their director. I wonder if any other director in the state has won that many times? Anyone know? I predict similar results to previous years. Mineola Whitesboro Atlanta Queen City C. Yoe Redwater Holliday Crane Winnsboro Palestine Westwood
