You guys are describing what has happened in Mansfield - Summit had developed into one of the top 5A programs in the state and then - *poof*. New schools thinned out the talent.
Normally, it's good to be last - but I gotta admit there's some logic to being in that first group:
Wakeland
Birdville
Southwest
Little elm
Centennial
Legacy
The top 4 bands might be right in there - and Legacy has the benefit of being last of that group. Ought to be a fantastic contest.
I will say this - of the shows in the finals, the two most entertaining were Allen and Marcus, and they finished#10 and #1.

Actually, Conner is exactly right. The music judges had Summit 4-4-10 and marching judges 4-9.
The "bad judges" rule is only if two music and one marching have you third or above. See link:
