  1. Cenntennial Smallish band Interesting painting theme? Nice brass opening - sound great Trumpet splats Tuba edginess Lovely sax solo Sound system issues - lots of static Lots of brass edginess in ballad Nice curve forms Really nice marching 1. Aledo 2. The Colony 3. Centennial
  2. The Colony Small band Interesting opening A little disjointed in opening Marching sharp Nice choreography Would love to hear more of the band - when they play, they sound great Great choral section FREEDOM!!!!!!!! Nice job 1. Aledo 2. The Colony
  3. Aledo Great sound - big band Marching problems - lines, spacing Nice guard - fairly simple elements, though
  4. Aledo up next - let's see how they do against Legacy. Legacy won that match-up last weekend at HEB.
  5. You guys are describing what has happened in Mansfield - Summit had developed into one of the top 5A programs in the state and then - *poof*. New schools thinned out the talent.
  6. And to you guys handicapping the Area B contest: keep in mind that Legacy finished ahead of Timberview and Aledo at the HEB Contest this past weekend.
  7. Normally, it's good to be last - but I gotta admit there's some logic to being in that first group: Wakeland Birdville Southwest Little elm Centennial Legacy The top 4 bands might be right in there - and Legacy has the benefit of being last of that group. Ought to be a fantastic contest.
  8. Just would like top point out that I made the call in the initial post on this thread [/bending arm to pat self on back].
  9. Timberview finished ahead of Mansfield. ..... ............
  10. I will say this - of the shows in the finals, the two most entertaining were Allen and Marcus, and they finished#10 and #1. Of course, (entertaining.ne.highscore)
  11. You know, I about had a coronary as I thought they had passed over "Bell"...
  12. Seriously? They must have some Band Boosters who work as professional set designers, then.
  13. I loved that show, I think they win State, but it begs one critical, vital question.... How much did all that stuff cost? Yowzah!!!!!
  14. Agree 100%. Summit has come so far in so short a time - only in the school's 5th year, right on the cusp of going to State.
  15. Actually, Conner is exactly right. The music judges had Summit 4-4-10 and marching judges 4-9. The "bad judges" rule is only if two music and one marching have you third or above. See link: http://www.uil.utexas.edu/music/scoring_procedure.html
