I’m shocked M&G Johnson didn’t make it. Congrats on a great season though! I saw y’all in Midland and thought for sure you’d be a lock at GNs. Are they really only in their 4th year of existence? 🤯

Also, congrats to Austin area bands - 4 in finals! So close to having had more in… Westlake - last one out. Buda Johnson would probably have been a finalist (in my opinion). James Bowie would also have been a potential finalist (15th at BOA SA)

Great job Mojo band! It’s nice to see a relevant West Texas band again. They bested some solid Houston area bands tonight Only graduating 35-40 seniors for a band of 300+. Future is bright!

Odessa Permian will make finals. They placed higher than Lake Ridge and Fossil Ridge at BOA Midland. They have a crazy travel schedule though - they’re performing at a Friday night away game in the Lubbock area, stopping and staying the night in Abilene, and then traveling to Duncanville in the morning just in time for their afternoon prelims slot. It’s great to see a West Texas band compete in Dallas!

Some thoughts after seeing the middle block in person: BA is the one to beat. Avon was solid. Blue Springs will make finals. Reagan had their best run yet. I have William Mason and Castle over Round Rock. CTJ is the top Texas band so far* (*Marcus and Flower Mound in last block)
