  1. two years ago, some girl didnt know her music and was about to play, but the fire alarm went of.. everyone took out their clarinets outside, but i packed up - it was like -50 degrees outside!!
  2. BTW according to google, LMB stands for: Lying Media Bigots, Louise Marie Barber, Left Mouse Button, Lame Masked Bands...haha
  3. YES! we are going to Sam!! we didnt lose enough people to justify dropping out! hopefully we do well get to march after CPark and before CyRidge, *shrug
  4. i agree, unlike in prelims. the prelim judging was all over the place. has anyone seen the breakdown for that? one judge had us at 3 and another had us at 21... top 3 were fairly consistant, but after that, it was chaotic. out of 5 judges, 4 ranked Baytown Lee in the 20s while judge 3 ranked them at 6! meh...life is unfair, we just gotta deal with it
  5. yes, i'm serious. you're awesome, just like that solo...haha THX
  6. Pasadena Memorial - Hypar Effect. marching 105 people, what do y'all think of us?
  7. hmmm...i suggest 3.5 str reeds for control, but i play on 4s out of the box. 5's have nice sounds, but take forever to break in - and really are unecessary. keep a nice firm ombisher (sp?) and fast, cold air.. idk what else to say..
  8. i can hit high G at any given moment w/o thinking in tune, but above that, no guarantees... besides, everything above that G and maybe the A is superfluous. Those notes are only good for some jazz and improv
  9. do you think that one of y'all can somehow send me a copy of that sheet music? (clarinet solo from spring hs) would be awesome
  10. you guys had the "cool" clarinet solo right? i remembered there were several clarinet solos throughtout the day, bu only one was cool. the others were supposed to be beautiful and such, but on the marching field, they were soft and boring.
  11. agreed. on another note: Spring's show was pretty cool, they didnt have all the distractions that everyone else had (woodlands - trees and yardline markers i think; pearland - random tower, narrator; one of the klein bands - flowers?) i'm not knocking any of those bands, but just saying that these distractions can mask some bad marching. Spring was cool
  12. ughh i know they're good, but i haven't seen them march yet (or ever - we march right after them). If it weren't for them, we woulda made finals last year, but we would've done badly because our Band Captain sabotaged us... We should pretty well if we dont have random individual mistakes and random stuff (pasadena memorial - Hypar Effect). Here's the kicker, we might not ever go... PISD switched to 6wks grading and lots of stupid people are failing!! We'll find out tomorrow. who are Dripping Springs and Brenham? did they compete late year?
