  1. thanks...haha just traded one kingwood kid for another. Cody was failing regular biology last year... Kingwood, Myself, Kingwood, Kingwood, Rayburn, .............Kingwood, Kingwood, Kingwood pretty much that's the school distribution, but with less Kingwood in the top band.
  2. I wish all of us that have auditions tomorrow, good luck!
  3. i'm going to miss the game of the century tomorrow for region chair placements. Pasadena Memorial VS Katy
  4. possibly emo? the myspace link shows this crazy trumpets........haha
  5. = some girl named alyssa from Kingwood Park got first, Cody Gibson got second for tuesday night. however, cody tells me that andrew of DP got first. *shrug = thanks sarah!
  6. i love the second half of the first page of #37. from after the scale up to high D to the end of the page. #10 is fun. my teacher wanted it at 120, but of course, that would be too much over the marked tempo. 106-108 for saturday.
  7. arrrgggh!!! lol 3rd overall I played #37 for my last etude. then, messed up the last line of the cut, the easy part too. kinda takes a little pressure off. even though last night didn't count, the others will be have the knowledge that i'll be gunning for that first chair. also, for saturday, i won't be stretching stuff and taking liberties with the etudes like i did last night...heh. also: Pasadena Memorial also got 1,3,5 for trumpets and 1 for flutes.
  8. first etude at tempo! also replenished my supply of cigarette paper!
  9. nice.
  10. everything must be squeaky clean. music notes should be within a good range of "in-tune" people should not yawn without covering their mouths
  11. no big deal, we have until January to lock down those tempos. I'm a little worried about #37. lately, there have been random small issues that have arisen. idk. i'm not worrying about the first cut though, my teacher told me that i could take some liberties with musicality for that first audition however, i want to get first chair this year, and i haven't heard from my competition this year yet.
  12. Pasadena Memorial at SHSU Finals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ov2IE5PBQYo not great quality, but meh.
  13. oh...haha. we have "district" and "phase 1" combined into one audition. so those cuts are usually about 3 easy lines.
  14. how does your audition process work? In region 19, we have tuesday night for ALL clarinets, trumpets, flutes, percussion. thursday, is everyone else. This audition shows who made district and who made region. then, that saturday, we have chair auditions for region. top # of this audition will continue to area. so we have 2 parts. do you have three it sounds like? district, phase 1, and phase 2?
  15. So, region 19 is starting this tuesday/thursday, with chairs and Area qualification on saturday. Is everyone ready?? Clarinet people: how are you guys doing? what tempos are you taking for #37 and #10?? #37 is going to be around 88-90 for me and #10 will be around 100-108. the slow one will be at the marked tempo.
  16. Pasadena Memorial (2-0) we beat Brazoswood last night, 28-17. it was COLD, around 45 F, but felt much colder with the insane wind chill. Next up: Katy or Madison (in other words, we're playing Katy) at Rice Stadium on Saturday
  17. we have our individual rituals first (trumpets hold a prayer, ww section leader gives a speech....etc) then we warm-up..... before lining up, we gather around our director, and he gives us a short speech, followed by close your eyes and do anything you need to do.
  18. Pasadena Memorial (1-0) We beat Baytown Lee last Friday night, 35-10. At the half, we were trailing 7-10. Our running back ran for all 5 scores, and completed a RB pass play for 27 yds to the QB. in the second half, we picked off Lee 3 times, once by our QB, once by our RB, and once by our safety (he intercepted the ball at our own 1 yd line, stepped into our endzone (scary almost-safety), broke a tackle at the 3 yd line, and took it all the way to their 46). on one play, we faked a punt for ~46 yds, and then later in the 4th quarter, our RB emerges from a pile to score a 90yarder. next: Brazoswood @ Clear Creek ISD Stadium (Reliant is fixing their grass or something ) if we beat Brazoswood, then next is Katy
  19. We are going to play: Molly on the Shore Salvation is Created for concert season.
  20. I know this one prodigy kid. He composes music without ever having to erase his work (he never messes up while writing). His name is Mozart...... that trumpet kid is pretty amazing though.
  21. nothing like this has ever happened in four years worth of football games (except for the game against the same school last year, where one pencil was thrown - with no rocks, spitting, tire-slashing, or booing). Crazy stuff. "only that we'd perform and look for the best looking football player on the opposing teams side and yell bow-chika-wow-wow at them... (Thats what happens when you put the Low Brass Girls in one distinct area LOL!" very nice.
