Can’t talk about it on a certain other forum for risk of upsetting people from other jurisdictions…. HOWEVER Leander making it after missing BOA San Antonio finals and Prosper earning finals after missing 6A state finals confirms what we all hold to be very true Texas is where it’s at!! Congratulations to the 4 TX finalists on earning another run and a massive THANK YOU to all 6 TX bands for representing this incredible state so well on the national stage.

Southlake Carroll misses finals here with arguably their most competitive show in recent memory, after making Grand Nats finals and St. Louis finals in the last two years. Certainly nothing to be embarrassed about, just goes to show that breaking into the top 14 at this contest is a massive feat, made all the more impressive by Reagan’s 21st consecutive finals appearance.

No offense to my Flower Mound homers out there… I just think Hebron is untouchable! Their drill and musical selection is so effective in conveying ‘amorphous’, not to mention it’s extremely clean—so much so that the amorphous bits in the drill stand out even more. I may be proven wrong here in a few hours, but I only see a certain Leander school giving them trouble today.

Don't count out Bowie, Cypress Woods, Westlake, Keller, McNeil, or LD Bell quite yet! I was a bit stunned by the omission of Bowie, Bell, and McNeil from state, though Bowie and Bell both have recent histories of less-than-stellar results at UIL area while achieving finals or near-finals results at late-season BOA. Keller hasn't missed a finals appearance at any contest in the last decade--I have a feeling 8-30 at BOA San Antonio will be surprising!

Yes, and then ended up bottom half at Waco. Bell and Keller have both peaked end of season last couple of years, so who knows what will happen! Being two days out and basically all 1-5 being a toss-up is wild when there are 4 spots to state. Keller, Bell, TC, and SLC all have potential to win, but I could also see any one of those groups on the outside looking in on advancement. Coppell is likely to win, though I'm not entirely convinced they have 1st completely locked down. The certainly won't miss out on advancing, though. ...And if it is prelims only, let's not forget that Keller Central was rewarded with exceptional placement in prelims 2022. Area never ceases to surprise! -

Yeah, this area is crazy tight this year. I'm thinking Keller and TC will secure spots 2 and 3 with how clean those programs have seemed early season. It looks like that final spot will likely come down to Bell and Carroll--might as well flip a coin! -

This is a bit distressing! It's coming down to them--If there was a timing penalty, we get 7 to finals and only 3 to state. -
2024 BOA Waco (Oct. 19)

Happy for Aledo! I think this is a much more accurate measure of their show than BOA Bedford was, and it’s more in line with their HEB Marching Contest placement. Excited to see how other BOA Bedford groups place at end-of-season comps!
