Pearland certainly isn’t a newcomer to being a top band in Texas. They have a long standing history of being high performing particularly in UIL and Concert bands dating back to the 70s. Heck, they placed 3rd at State in the 90s. Having a more BOA centric/style show in more recent years definitely helps.
