  1. Ngl Churchill was really at a disadvantage for these results. We were the only finalist band who performed in the heavy rain. We had no mics so our front ensemble and synth were non existent as well as woodwind soloists. We also had many people whose instruments were messed up before we even started because as we were walking over to perform we were getting poured on. Also pretty much everyone with glasses was marching blind due to the rain. A lot of us were really mad we didn’t get a redemption run to show the judges what we could really do.
  2. Also we had a really good run!!! Especially considering the conditions.
  3. Yah, Churchill performed in a full downpour it was wild. None of our equipment is ruined it was just a pretty fun run for our woodwinds (I’m the tenor sax soloist). Lots of swabbing……
  4. Matter of fact, I’ve been complimenting them.
  5. I don’t believe I am since I’m not insulting McNeil. I never once did. I’m just adding to the discussion of scores.
  6. Yes, I agree. McNeil is having a fantastic season. I thought you were talking about only Area. Just for the the record I’m not trying to take away from McNeil at all.
  7. Lower score the better
  8. Oh wait my bad. That was a specific judges score. The actual rating was 41 (McNeil) and 50 (Churchill).
  9. If Churchill and McNeil put in the work and keep going up as they are, I could see both of them in state in the next 3-6 years.
  10. Though the bands above them also have great shows and so it holds both bands back from state.
  11. How is that clearly outstanding? They were 9/10 this year as well. They both just have great shows.
  12. also Churchill beat McNeil in visuals by 9 points. Also the judge that placed McNeil 7th for visuals, placed them 5th in prelims. They had the opportunity to get better.
  13. We do what we do to impress 5 judges. McNeil Simply didn’t impress all 5. Also Churchill beat McNeil in GE and Visuals.
  14. Real big difference there. My bad🤷
  15. Churchill beat McNeil by .7 points at Vista ridge. On the UIL scoring system, 14 points is pretty equal. It was and will continue to be a very close contest between the two.
  16. I very much so disagree. Churchill literally beat McNeil. Like placed higher. If McNeil had the upper hand by a lot, they would have beat them. And even at Area they would have beat them by wayyyy more. I think it just seems like Churchill is worse because they’ve been on a steady uphill while McNeil just shot up to the top immediately this year.
  17. Although it may not seem like it, Churchill is right up there with McNeil. They beat them at Vista Ridge and then were only behind them by 14 points which isn’t a lot for uil considering the 8th place band was over 100 points ahead of McNeil.
  18. I think Moe and Gene Johnson is a lot better than y’all think. They were actually 5th in prelims at Area (above dripping) and also have a really solid show. Depending on how their runs go and if the judges like them, I could see them winning.
  19. So….Churchill did not beat Dripping Springs. Regardless, we’ll still do really well here. It’s our redemption arc for sure.
  20. I may have overhyped Churchill…..regardless, they had a really solid run in finals and McNeil didn’t beat us by much at all. It was a super competitive area and super fun to watch.
