Hendrickson will be attending this contest despite missing it last season, I feel like we'll be seeing a ton more bands here this year than last year.

Could definitely see New Braunfels breaking through here to state! It is too early to call of course though... I also could see Pieper winning this in the fall if their program keeps trending the way it has in the past four years.

It is highly unlikely that Dripping, Keller, Round Rock, Hebron, TWHS, and CTJ will go next year. Hopefully we see a new slate of great Texas band in attendance though!

This was a tough season for sure! I still see 2021 and 2017 as more competitive GN years from the last decade, but this season had an uber competitive bubble. I am curious to see what the score gaps are between Bentonville, Brownsburg, CTJ, and Dripping. It couldn't be more than a point between 12th and 13th places.

HornRank's rankings haven't been updated to reflect the changes of the contests that took place this past week. The Top 32 list out right now is from October 31st, I'm sure they'll update them and put Marcus where they deserve to be accordingly.

Leander making finals is pretty surprising to me, they have had a rougher season and haven't been quite the same as a program without Robert Selaiden. I am happy to see them in finals though! I just thought we might see Cedar Ridge over them here.

MG Johnson is no stranger to BOA Waco. They finished in 2nd place at a more competitive Waco last season above schools like Rouse and Leander. While their show is not as good as it has been in previous years, I see them as a surefire medalist here. The battle between them, Wylie, and Dripping Springs should be an interesting one! I wish CTJ, McNeil, and Seven Lakes were coming to this regional like they had previously intended, that could have really spiced up finals.

Churchill has never won state, but won BOA San Antonio a couple times in the 90's before it became a "super regional" in 2003. NEISD's MacArthur High School does have a couple state championships however!

Only five will advance to state from Area D. This competition *could* get bloody because of UIL shenanigans, but it is hard for me to see the state qualifiers not being Reagan, Cedar Ridge, Round Rock, Westwood, and CTJ. Dripping Springs and Bowie could certainly break in, but it is hard for me to see McNeil, MG Johnson, or Churchill advancing to state (although it is within the realm of possibility).

I don't see Austin High beating McNeil here. McNeil has routinely beat them at UIL the past couple cycles. It would be super cool to see Glenn final here though, I am excited to watch them this year.

Predictions? All of these bands are clustered in similar tiers, should be a close competition without Westwood this season. Tier 1 - LD Brandeis, Glenn, McNeil, O'Connor, Winston Churchill Tier 2 - Del Rio, Lake Belton, Liberty Hill, New Braunfels, Weiss Bubble - Belton, Hutto, JP Stevens
