  1. It's basically them surfing the radio waves and moving back in time, starting with modern pop (The Weeknd) moving back towards Earth, Wind, and Fire, then reaching classical with Vivaldi's Summer and then Come Sail Away to close. The prop changes indicate a new station. Basically, an "odyssey" through the eras of music, with the Greek Odyssey tying in.
  2. Rowlett didn't make it either, wow, Lewisville took it
  3. ^ Results - a little inconsistent

  5. Forney completely wiped the competition in this comp though. I am surprised North Mesquite did not place higher. They were very clean marching wise and sounded very balanced with good sounds. Their general effect and visual may have been what held them back. Forney's general effect was insane, honestly felt like I was watching a DCI corps in some parts.
  6. Texas High and Pine Tree both beating Mount Pleasant really surprised me. I didn't think Texas High had a good run, there were several tears during the performance.
  7. Me too, I am unsure of why they deserved the bottom spot. Their General Effect impresses me and their playing sounds great imo. Not sure what they did wrong.
  8. I would say that every band here is looking considerably better than they were last season. Mount Pleasant's show is visually shocking (they have the Bluecoats '17 prop as well as just a ton of visuals) as well as having a cool musical selection. Marshall in my biased opinion has a very good show and is sounding way better this year. Pine Tree's brass is also honestly very powerful, though I'm not the biggest fan of their show. I haven't really seen any of the others in person to judge, Red Oak from what I saw is looking good though. North Mesquite may see some success in 5A, even though they were in the middle of Area C in 6A. I think this is going to be very interesting. P.S. 9 bands are attending; they are taking 7 bands to finals. We will see who makes finals. Also finals awards has full band retreat :))
  9. Predictions? I don't think any of them have, Mount Pleasant and Pine Tree did go to USBands at AT&T Stadium.
  10. HARD AGREE heath sounded absolutely great we walked into the lot while they were playing and their brass sounded amazing honestly.
  11. Melissa blows me away, they moved up to 5A just this year, but they've been consistently defeating many good 6As. They are insane. Also Princeton at 3rd is crazy.
  12. 1. Melissa HS 2. Rowlett HS 3. Princeton HS 4. Rockwall Heath HS 5. ? 6. Mesquite Poteet HS 7. ? 8. ? 9. West Mesquite HS 10. ? This is all I could find by looking up Facebook pages.
