  1. This Past summer I completed a Eagle Project that Benefitted my Band, What I did was built "Tuba Rack" these could be most compared to the Wenger tuba racks but I designed and built them from scratch, the ones I built were for King Sousaphones, and Miraphone Concert Tubas. They were built on wheels so you could move them if you have limited spaces in your facilities and are as easy as putting them against a wall and having more appealing storage for tubas. The benefit was that the tuba section didn't have to disassemble and reassemble Sousaphones during the marching season and over created a solution for a very inconvenient problem. If anyone is interested in what I did just DM me and I fully open to sharing my design and how I completed and went through with my Project.
  2. D2: reasonable and wouldn't effect anyone negatively D3: in the case of someone from Area B 5A, It is THE hardest 5a area shown by 3/4 bands being 3/12 finalists but also that LT getting 5th in area not making state, but the year before making it shows the level of competition and this rule is very biased to certain areas. It's good to have competition but also would heavily effect the Austin area seeing how all 3 list schools medaled would that mean from Area they send 6-7 that just cant work. This rule is a cope to having competitive areas and the programs that might be one out of advancing to state need to meet a higher level if they want to advance. D4: I feel a finalist medal is a amazing concept but we have to think of this on the broad scale of UIL and how medals in different sports there is no finalists in other competitions just brackets. maybe a small pendent would be nice but the quality gold silver bronze UIL medals should be only medals handed out just due to the overall presentation in all UIL actives not just band. D5: IMO I think time penalties in generally need a rework regarding things like instrument failures. the likelihood of electronics deciding to reboot on the field. I feel a list of parameters and what would be considered overtime rather than a delay. Things like not having shows up to tempo and going overtime should be a DQ, but things like electronic failures or possible equipment malfunctions should not as they are uncontrollable. more specific parameters should be put into effect for region dq's, great example is wakeland 2022 where they had a electronics reboot while on the field and the directors chose to not start thus digging into performance time then consequently having the buzzer going off mid performance. wakeland has gotten a division 1 rating since they first opened and that one year broke a 16 year division 1 sweepstakes streak and thus being the first year in over 2 decades wakeland didn't win area b. all because of a electronics reboot. penalties need a rework divided by controllable and uncontrollable events.
  3. the recaps are all over the place in general judge to judge, they were all kinda in there own world when judging.
  4. what are we are the (1st in 2023) mean what event are they from
  5. Does anyone have a video of coppell? very intrigued to see it
  6. definitely true the level of cleaning from August to October is like very gradual, but from October to November the cleaning happens very fast and sky rockets just in one month. most school are probably have fully learned there show and have 75% of it without metronome, and some schools are one step ahead and have met out and show fully learned, a great opportunity to see some of this areas school is definitely the FISD marching showcase next Tuesday.
  7. maybe there will be a video tonight they have a game vs lebanon trail, to very consistently placing bands in this area. would be a amazing halftime to watch!
  8. they probably had to turn it off for the copyright laws, because of music licensing.
  9. good overall prediction but leaving out schools like krum and wakeland who have recently had some amazing years defintely. But also wakeland consistantly placing 2nd at this competition both defintely in my top 3
  10. Legacy? just searched up Wakeland went almost 10 years ago in 2014, and i dont think any other schools i listed have gone
  11. Some of these 5a or smaller schools would be such a great fit for nats, as they are well performing like Forney, Wakeland, Rouse. Forney would have such a good shot just by the numbers of there band and the program but also with Wakeland with there program legacy they went to nats ages ago and went all out with that show. Would love some of these schools to build a nats show.
  12. I did see that Lone star did win in prelims this last year but I have heard that is becuase of the scheduling and because lone star had one of the latest times it put them much more easy to compare to othe programs compared to wakeland which had a earlier perfomance time. This is a such competative top 5 that it will probably always be wakeland to win but the effort that the programs like lone star and mckinney north put in could some day in the far future get them to the level that wakeland puts out year after year.
  13. this is true the freshman and sophormore classes have been huge with the class of 2026 being 700 ish students and the class of 2025 being around 500-600 and class of 2024 being 450-550 so they just got a big boost instudents
  14. When it comes to area prelims it is rumored that Wakeland got 2nd in prelims as they had a early performance time lone star having the second to last performance, and with the new judging the later bands have a higher chance of placing better and UIL has a lot of music judging and can be judged better when you stand still, something that Wakeland has a history of not doing
  15. does anyone have or has transcribed the Leander tuba/trombone solo for this year, i would love to learn it
  16. is the update late for this week? where is week 6
  17. I think the prediction need to be reset for this event they were made before wakeland was announced
  18. Funny how the topic got started of the Wakeland post and there show is called "Spices, Perfumes, & Toxins" LOL
