I’ve gotta compliment them on their timing because it seemed No matter what tempo the went at they were rock solid, almost like there was a metronome clicking in their head the whole time! Wylie has this amazing ability to perform like a professional wind ensemble even while on the field. The woodwinds played so delicately in the opener, the brass filled the stadium with their BIG confident sound. Nothing seemed to faze them whether it was the dissonant harmonies in the show, playing in large spreads, those big circles they formed on the field. Professional in every aspect!

I LOVED their performance of festive overture! It was like listening to a concert performance but on the field. The clarity in the articulation, the sonority of the brass, the alignment maintained even in the large spread during the feature. the woodwinds handled their runs in festive overture so well! the euphonium soloist’s tone really embodied the “beautiful sound” meaning of the word euphonium. And the brass supported them so nicely❤️

The brass nearly took my head off in the opener cuz they were so loud! Lol I loved how they contrasted the opener and closer with different types of “strong volume” I.e. the opener was more ff-fff and the closer was more mf-f but both were just as resonant as the other. Very clean performance overall

Alright I’m back! I had to break this down cuz there’s so much to compliment lol Music Brass-Omg when i tell you the Duncanville band kids in the stands were LOSING their minds at all of the runs and high notes in the mellos! I think they were D-ville’s Mello section lol Hebron tunes their brass so perfectly and they project so brilliantly like there’s no holes in the sound whatsoever. And my god their multiple-tonguing is sooo fast and they maintain vertical alignment so well regardless of simultaneous visual/environmental demand Woodwinds- Their woodwinds don’t run, they SPRINT! And it’s so clean even in the upper register of their instruments, regardless while they’re stationary or on the move I loved how in the ballad is arranged so that you can hear all of the colors so easily and they blend so perfectly. I was moved! ❤️ Visual For a band this size it’s impressive how they can move so fast with such complex formations and make it all look smooth as butter and maintain uniformity from marcher to marcher. Ugh!😩

They reminded why they were Grand Nats finalists in 2022. OMG their brass sound is so resonant and perfectly balanced, they maintain the integrity of their visual forms so fantastically. I love the quality of sound even when they crescendo/decrescendo. they’re the band that makes you appreciate little things like the how the low brass’s timbre right at the beginning fits the character of the music so perfectly, I loved how at the end of the opener I could hear the upper register flute/clarinet sustains so well. TL;DR; they were great👍🏾 lol

Keller’s sound is so clean like wow there’s in-tune and then there’s in-tune! -
Y’all I’m so confused ok so there were 14 bands that got scored in prelims right? And there were 12 bands that were scored in finals. But in finals coppell performed 6th and timber creek performed 7th. Which made me think they were performing with respect to the top 6/bottom 6 split which is stated by the HEB website. But obviously that doesn’t match with their prelims results. Ok so did a band that was originally going to perform in finals withdraw from the competition and they decided to score 4A class champ Krum instead, who normally would’ve performed in exhibition? Idk I’m so lost, I wasn’t there for prelims😅😭
