  1. FINALS Results Predictions Cedar Park Rouse Wakeland Leander Burleson Centennial Forney Friendswood Lonestar Richland Roma Hendrickson Lebanon Trail
  2. No reason to take away from what Aledo accomplished at Area or from what Richland accomplished at State yesterday. Centennial had the horrible draw at Area with the added challenge of the bad weather and still overcame it to make it to State. Making State finals for BC and Richland was fantastic yesterday…especially with BC’s placement! I just wish Aledo could have come along for the ride as well to help represent Area F. Best of luck to Centennial and Richland in finals today!!
  3. I would disagree with that and so would the judges…
  4. In 6A based on the UIL snapshot numbers from last week
  5. Apparently 13th…bad draw hurt them for sure…they had a clean run
  6. Now my ranking predictions…after all performances (before announcement of course) 1. Rouse 2. Cedar Park 3. Leander 4. Wakeland 5. Forney 6. Burleson Centennial 7. Aledo 8. Pieper 9. Lone Star 10. Hendrickson 11. Friendswood 12. Smithson Valley
  7. They had a good clean run…I have them on the bubble due to the bad draw
  8. I'd question McKinney North making finals...I'm not seeing that.
  9. After watching Hendrickson a couple of times this season I would totally agree with that assessment of a lower spot in finals.
  10. Was it BC's best run? Absolutely Not. Was there judging discrepancies? Yes. Did it impact the other bands that were there and their scoring? Yes as well. The big question for the State competition to consider is will the 7 panel judge system with Music Ensemble/Brass/Woodwind/Percussion/Visual Ensemble/Visual Individual/Content&Design being all judged individually have an impact on how bands rank. The simple answer is absolutely and this should benefit Burleson Centennial greatly...especially with their Percussion and Guard. They'll clean up their visual issues from last Saturday and not have a soaking wet field to deal with either. Their favorable prelims spot at State is also a nice perk that they haven't had in a while which will be nice for them. Aledo and Richland have the first block with them going 3rd and 7th respectively. They should both do very well in that block and might go 1 and 2 for block 1, but don't ignore Roma going 8th since they are always a finalist contender and could push past either of these 2 bands, especially with Roma's favorable position in the block. Back to the question as to whether you can count on beating Burleson Centennial at State...the short answer is most definitely no. Just with Percussion alone I would see Richland's percussion scoring in the bottom third in prelims and BC scoring in the top 5 and could win Percussion. Their percussion was the highest ranking 5A drumline from the state of Texas at the WGI world competitions last year for reference. There's only a handful of other 5A drumlines that can compare with them. Their show also really highlight's their drumline's finesse and control when they are featured after the ballad. Will drumline be enough to make them a solid finalist? No...they'll have to bring it in all the other categories as well. Needless to say, Monday will be fun! I'll be there for all 35 bands and will be rooting for all the Area F bands to do well!
  11. Great point! Congrats to the district as a whole!
  12. Great job doing so also! Good luck and soak in the moment!
  13. That was my predictions…I did good to get 8 of 10
  14. I missed 2 of the finals choices…Brewer and Saginaw for Cleburne and Summit…didn’t really think Summit would make finals but totally thought Cleburne could.
  15. Not at all…the last couple of spots on my list could go several different ways
  16. Final’s Predictions after prelim performance: 1 Burleson Centennial 2 Aledo 3 Colleyville Heritage 4 Richland 5 Azle 6 Birdville 7 Grapevine 8 Brewer 9 Midlothian 10 Saginaw
  17. Timberview is the final band to perform and their show is titled “Lumber Tango.” It starts off with a nice harmonica solo. The flugel solo with woodwinds was a nice sweet moment. Another nice show to round out the day.
  18. Creekview is second to last to preform and starts off with a nice solo. Verdi’s Requim was an excellent transition from their ballad and led into their finale with power. They did a nice job and had a well deserved Area appearance.
  19. Massive improvement from years past and it looks like they are setting a foundation for years of future growth with their new leadership.
  20. South Hills is the next band with their show “Heist”. They have some fun music to go along with the theme. The percussion has a nice feature in the middle that highlights them well. A smaller band that deserved to be here at Area. Good job band!
  21. Richland is taking the field with their show “Under Pressure”. Nice start and I love the intensity. Great soprano sax solo leading into the night on bald mountain section and volcano reveal. The flugel solo was extremely exposed and he delivered. The backfield portion before the finale was a nice affect and they finished strong. I loved the phantom regiment kick out for the final set! See you in finals!
  22. Southwest’s show is “Cursed” and they did a nice job with the show. Good performance and glad that they made Area!
