  1. This also includes color guard, where some of these bands have HUGE participation numbers. I believe I counted 41 guard members for Lake Belton, and they weren't the only band with more than 40 dedicated guard members on the field during their state performance.
  2. Congrats to Lone Star on their best ever state finish as their progression continues to ascend at that level. And Area B … just wow All four make finals and place 4, 6, 7 and 10. Take a bow …
  3. Is there any update on the friendswood band member who passed out on the field at end of show and was carted off on one of the prop wagons? Was a scary moment
  4. Didn’t a couple people post them here last night?
  5. Lone Star’s entire band was up and grooving with the Bears in the upper deck. Was hilarious to watch. They were loving it!
  6. Congrats to Area B! And the powerhouse will be getting stronger in ‘25 with Panther Creek joining the fray in moving up from 4A. Lone Star poised for its highest ever finish. Aledo was a showstopper in prelims. Feel for Lake Belton; I had them in. Let’s run it back tomorrow. Seniors, leave it ALL on the field. Enjoy your last runs. Good luck finalists!
  7. Thanks for keeping tabs all day. Job well done
  8. Been here all day and I cannot argue with this list at all. But I’m selfishly rooting for Barbers Hill because that was so fun to watch and would love to see it in finals
  9. Will be close. There’s a chance that all four Area B schools can squeeze in
  10. That Barbers Hill show was FUN! Bet the kids have a blast each and every time they perform. Great uniforms. Way to immerse yourself into the theme.
  11. Ho-lee Aledo!!! That show has gotten so much better since BOA Bedford. So good. Add them to the 2-6 race (pun intended). 1. CP 2-5. Rouse, Lone Star, Aledo, Wakeland (no particular order) 6. Leander
  12. Wakeland: I’ll say it again. Technically sound but lacks the pop, power and degree of difficulty that CP, Lone Star and Midlo brought in the first block.
  13. Cedar Park is such a joy to watch. Professionals at work.
  14. Wow. Lone Star! Just wow. Hallelujah solo gave me goosebumps. Huge sound for so early this morning. Just WOW!
  15. And we’re off with a long day at the Alamodome! Leave it all in the field!
  16. With the addition of more schools, 5A Area B will soon be sending five schools to state, not four. So anything is possible.
  17. It'll be so much fun to see how third through sixth shakes out. And while it feels that 1-2 is a lock, it's always exciting for the possibility of the establishment being challenged. You just never know ...
  18. Really excited to see the CP-Rouse battle take place on the Alamodome field yet again. Last year's shows were incredible. In four trips, they've never left us disappointed. Can't wait to see how this year's contest shakes out.
  19. That's my point. Aesthetically, it's pleasing and precise -- as Wakeland shows have come to be known for. However, it lacks degree of difficulty and the "wow" factor they've had in past years. It's TOO minimalistic.
  20. This is just an observation: Wakeland does what they do VERY well, and I have the UTMOST respect for the product they put on the field, but I have to point this out. If you look at their show this year, they are marching in lines (and mini formations) that are just 2-5 people deep -- for the majority of the entire show. Of course the forms and straight lines and diagonals look cleaner, because it's minimalistic and lacks the degree of difficulty that bands with lines of 15-20 deep have. Before the comments flow in, and understanding the point I'm trying to make, take a few minutes to watch Wakeland's show and then tell me why I'm wrong.

  22. Early call times for LS and Wakeland in San Antonio.
  23. This! The gap is getting closer and closer. Congrats to both these programs for continuing to absolutely bring it in this loaded area! To have these schools, which are just 3 miles from each other and split kids from the same feeder programs, finish this close to each other is just insane. Sad for LT. Loved their show. And I agree this area deserves 5, but what can you do. Congrats to all the finalists and see you in San Antonio!
  24. 10. Heritage 9. Walnut Grove 8. Memorial 7. Liberty 6. Reedy 5. Leviton Trail 4 (to state). Argyle 3 (to state). McKinney North 2 (to state). Lone Star 1 (to state). Wakeland
  25. Here we go! Results time …
