Forney went to Bedford yesterday, they placed 13th.

is that also why some schools tend to perform better at UIL compared to BOA? i dont have examples on the top of my head, but it’s something I’ve noticed with a few schools.

ironically forney got the same placement as last year. sucks in general, but they still got a few more weeks to push thru the season, so im rooting for them! im planning on attending their community performance next weekend, so ill be with them another week (if everything works out).

AHHH THANK YOU! i appreciate the compliment! we added choreo stuff yesterday night so today was the first performance we had the new stuff in! im definitely happy with the run i had personally, and im excited for these next four years at unt :))

and that’s a wrap! im so beyond excited and happy by the events turned out today! i was extremely nervous going into this performance, but the crowd was AWESOME! however, i will say this to forney: just know im proud of you guys. even if things didn’t go to way you guys wanted, believe me when i say the crowd loved you all. it was so awesome talking to you guys again, seeing your faces made me tear up a bit. i miss you all so so much, and just be proud with the work you put in today because the journey has only just begun. besides forney… LONE STAR?! im so shocked but i LOVE LOVE LOVE what ive seen so far (i will be rewatching this for years to come), and as i said to forney, be proud of the work today! the rest of my thoughts will come in the morning, but imma get some shut eye after two performances today. gmg! 💚🦅

man the main thing is the fear factor since my old hs is watching me and ive been telling them how awesome the green brigade culture is. im telling myself to breathe through and just focus on delivering the best performance for myself (and using the tips i provided in the heb thread cause yes i always have to ground myself).

thank you so much! i watched unt my sophomore year at Bedford, and last year at state! they’ve always blown my mind away, and im genuinely hoping we amaze people! this is my second exhibition performance, but i have another one later that day too, so i won’t be able to lurk about (unless i can find time).

anywho, tomorrow is BEDFORD DAY! im feeling all sorts of feelings, but my main one is excitement! i am so excited to see what ends up shaping up for the schools. as i always have said, any unexpected surprises are welcome surprises (or something along those lines). besides that, i can’t wait to perform for everyone who will be watching! i have a feeling a lot of you guys will like the show, and im excited to be able to perform in front of so many people! when you say forney is fighting for finals, i will confirm that they want finals so bad. i know last year (my senior year), everyone was upset over us missing finals. this year, i have a lot of hope for them and i am rooting for them hardcore no matter what. p.s. a lil scared to exhibition in front of my old hs, but maybe ill be able to perform well for my sake.

Nope, no contest that day. I know why they decided to pull out, but I’d rather that be up to the current band band members to say. However, they’re doing a rehearsal that day and a performance (I think).

Forney unfortunately will no longer be attending this contest which is such a bummer cause the director was excited talking to me about this. I heard of this through friends at the school and such. I’m upset for them, but I know they’ll do such a good job to push through the last part of the season!

time for my super awesome boa bedford predictions - i will be at this comp only for exhibition purposes and all things related to that (my feelings for that are a different story cause i am terrified). unfortunately, i probably will not have time to watch performances. however, my predictions are based off what i watched through any means. always remember these can be swapped, but i am pretty somewhat adamant on this. 1. Hebron 2. Flower Mound 3. Coppell 4. LD Bell 5. Wakeland / Aledo 6. Aledo / Wakeland 7. Timber Creek 8. Waxahachie (boa loves em) 9. Southlake Carroll (this doesn’t feel right) 10. Keller 11. Forney 12. KC / Lone Star (this definitely does NOT feel right) This contest is genuinely so hard to predict in my opinion cause everyone deserves finals but hopefully I get somewhat close 😭.

I’ve never mainly been on the ramps mainly during my time at Forney, although I had to get on a prop for testing the stability once and I was TERRIFIED 😭 I don’t know how people do it but it is SCARY

WOOOOOO! Forney, Forney, Forney!!! I’m so proud AHHHHHH 😭😭😭 besides me being proud of my alma mater, ALEDO?! That was a total SHOCK, but as i always said last season: “the most unexpected things are the most welcome!”

I managed to see a video of Flower Mound, and OH MY. Their show this year is insane, and I love how produced it is already! I just know if I somehow see Flower Mound, I will be in awe!! Yes I saw Marcus and Hebron too, but my thoughts will come sooner rather than later.

With what I've seen of Forney, I believe there’s a chance they can pull over with Waxahachie, although I can’t say if we were favored by UIL or BOA last year cause we performed well at both. For now though, my predictions are the same with Waxahachie over Forney being the one difference.

ik im not really apart of the convo, but I want to chime in and say ultimately I think all of these shows will get better with time. i know it’s common sense, but I feel like some of these shows will do good with the right amount of cleaning and such. sure they wont get to the same “level” as the top band programs, but they’ll have something to be proud of.
