So assuming everything stays the same, Highland Park wouldn’t be over at Area C unless they do decide to do balance changes. I won’t try to predict this area until there’s a finalization on the Areas

I agree, I do hope there are some balancing changes, I just don’t know who would come over besides Highland Park.

I do know they were moved out of Area C before the realignment, but would it make logical sense for them to come back after just 1 alignment? I genuinely do believe they could come back, it just wouldn’t make sense for them to.

Starting this with a bit of a concern, now that Forney (go Jackrabbits) is in 6A, this area is getting weaker and weaker. I do hope this area gets some form of a boost, maybe add in a few schools from Area B to give this Area somewhat of a chance. I know some people are considering Highland Park because they’re coming back to 5A, it wouldn’t seem logical to move Highland Park out of Area B considering they got moved around 3 years ago. However, UIL is more unpredictable than the chances Box5 will come back to stream UIL State, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Anywho, who do y’all believe will advance to state? I cannot wait to hear / read y’all’s predictions!

The UIL 5A Area C Contest will be held on October 26th, 2024.

Believe me, I did suggest it several times when I was asked about competitions. He’s thinking about it though, just no confirmation if he is or not.

I genuinely have been wanting Forney to return to this competition since the exhibition in 2019. I do know it’s a possibility, but don’t count on it. 3 BOA regionals back to back certainly wouldn’t be nice for my friends.

I believe that going for the experience is all that matters. Regardless of believing you are a lock for finals, it’s just something that the kids will never forget, seeing all the strong programs across the country is a treat to be desired! (Seeing Avon on Box5 was one of my goals, and now my bigger goal is to go to GN in person)

Yep! We have some rules that many think are extreme, but I kinda see as necessary for the sake of the band. The only thing that would push it is rules that physically exert the students or negatively affects their image of band. Band’s meant to be fun to a degree in my opinion. (I used to want to be a director, so take what I say with some level of grain of salt).

Forgot to give my opinion, but one of the main ballads that I’ll forever remember is Poteet 2019’s ballad. It was a show that I genuinely never have forgotten, and the ballad makes it one of my all time favorites.

I AGREE! I got so much chills watching it at Super Regionals, and I almost cried even. UGH I love Marcus so much.

Forney Rivalries: Two for Marching Band Forney vs Aledo (always neck to neck) Forney vs Lone Star vs Burleson Centennial (because we often come neck to neck) Two for Football Forney vs Poteet (pre covid days) Forney vs Longview Now one for everything Forney vs North Forney (yeah it’s pretty much common sense for this to be the hugest rivalry)

Forney making state finals in 2021 after not advancing to finales for over a decade. Still glad I was a part of that. We went from 8th in finals at 2021 to 4th place in just two years.

I’m also trying to see if I can attend, but knowing that I can’t drive will STINK when it comes to watching Forney. I’m learning how to drive soon, hopefully, but I hope I won’t have any issues with my college.

I’m going on a limb and saying Prosper is above Forney. I know it’s my own school, but we have actually competed with 6A schools before, and we tend to place below prosper and all the Lewisville Schools. I am not overlooking our recent success, but it’s something that cannot be overlooked, regardless of BOA judging. However, I do have faith in Forney thriving in 6A, especially now that we’ve been brought into the spotlight. It’s something I wish I could experience, but unfortunately college calls and I answer. 😔

I saw and reposted Leander’s insta on my story! Confused a lot of kids from my school, but oh well. Very very happy as we’ve commented on other posts! If I’m not able to go to GN this year, I’ll most definitely purchase Box5 Premium for all the BOAs. OH YIKES. I really hope they opt out of Super Regionals, but it’s most likely going to be a no opt out. Really hope they have allotted homework time or something because those kids will be BEHIND on classwork.
