This is probably unrelated but I seriously wonder why districts like Leander ISD , *Frisco and Lewisville have some of the best marching bands in texas. Is it district funding for fine arts? I doubt it, this is texas lol

you must be new here- we don’t talk like that to other bands. we’re all in this together at the end of the day. keep the negativity to yourself.

what time are finals announcements

exactly. and although being a smaller BAND in the big school classifications, 5A and 6A can really hurt you-we’ve seen multiple times that small bands can compete especially in 5A. Highland park up until they moved to 6a for example, they were the silver medalist in 2019!!! their band is probably HALF the size of Cedar Park. Another example is Roma- they regularly make state finals, and they are a 2A school in BOA. Argyle is making their way up to the top of UIL 5A as well and they are like a fraction of the size all the other top schools in area B 5a.

i dont get it, how come new high schools only have 3 grade levels? what about seniors?

I’m still so curious, how did Mckinney North not make it to finals? They placed third in their area while Lebanon trail got fourth somehow Lebanon trail is at finals but not in Mckinney? You would think that area scores somewhat predicted, and would reflect state scores, right?

y They deserved it, everyone is so used to moving props and light up shows, Vandy was just pure talent this year. Idk if you noticed but MANY 6A bands chose to go a simpler route this year, for example FloMo’s show this year as opposed to 2021 and 2022 is drastically different.

What happened at Cedar Ridge this year? from 3rd at stare and making finals at BOASA last year to not making state or finals at BOASA this year? Must be really tough on the upperclassmen.

mckinney north definitely will be 6a next year though, in the Snapshot that was done last week of all texas schools they had 2270 i believe and the cut off for 5a is 2219, so unless they lose 50+ students by the uils official snapshot next month, they will be 6a

with McKinney North definitely and possibly wakeland getting realigned at the end of this year to 6A, next year argyle will definitely be at state. Hoping to see lovejoy at finals next year as well!

I think Argyle has a good chance of placing above lebanon trail and making it to state this year based off of how both of their seasons are going this year.
