No Klein Oak? They came in 3rd at BOA North Houston ahead of some of these schools. This will be their second year under their new director who has a really good track record. They've also change their arranger to Michael Martin. It'll be fun to see some of the changes we'll see from him. I can see Klein Oak taking another step forward this year.

Klein Oak announced their 2024 show tonight. It's called "Heartless" and is about what it's like to be the tin man from the Wizard of Oz and longing for what he can't have, which is his heart. No graphics have been made public yet but I'll try and post them when they are. The song selections are My Body is a Cage - Peter Gabriel What Could Have Been - Sting (from Arcane) Symphony No. 5 - Prokofiev Road to Perdition - Thomas Newman This is Life - Son Lux (from Everything Everywhere All at Once) Human Heart - Jacob Collier

I just did a quick look at it looks like there will be 34 bands in this area now. I wouldn't be surprised if we can send 6 to state for the next two years maybe. I saw this yesterday and thought maybe Houston was getting a 3rd BOA contest. It’ll be interesting to see if some people move over to the North Houston contest. The first time I ever saw Reagan was at North Houston about 6 years ago

More than likely if/when that happens some schools could move out of 6A for a time. Like if Tomball West opens and they take students from the other high schools it'll lower their numbers.

I got to see them in Ohio this past year and and agree that it was one of the most entertaining guard shows I've ever seen.

Ours goes on at 9:45 but we’re pumped. Wake up time is 4 am though. lol

I know the directors have them but I don't know if they'll be posted or not. Ours sent us information on where we placed in the caption in prelims and finals.

I've saw clear brook at BOA and both runs on Saturday and they were definitely a little off in finals. I heard a lot of phasing I'd never heard before and they weren't together like I'd heard before. I'm not sure if The Lone Star Preview posts the score sheets but I'd have to guess their music score was lower than usual because of that. It was probably just a one time thing but they'll be fine.

I still think Klein Cain will make Finals. The Klein schools were out of school last week and a lot of them learned or finished learning a majority of their closer on Thursday and Friday of last week. I think that they will all get them more cleaned up this week and be in a much better position next weekend.

Remember you only get 8 hours a week of practice so not going to BOA doesn't mean more practice time, it actually might mean less because you get an hour on extra practice on performance days.

I know. I went to Tomball High School before Tomball Memorial existed. I was thinking they were both going to be there. That's what I get for not relooking at the schedule before saying something. 😂

Brazoswood was 12th at BOA Katy and Tomball Memorial was less than a point behind them in prelims. I think Tomball Memorial may fall in the 5-7 range.

No College Park in the top 15?

Yes, Klein Oak's props are fountains. We put in a lot of work this past Saturday and have a lot more work this week to hopefully make it more apparent than it is now by this weekend!
