As this is a PRELIMS and FINALS event, SAA/SA and NA will be split. The specific sites for each split have not been determined but I will update this once I am informed. Crazy stacked lineup, I’ll be volunteering w/ the colony hs, really hope I get to see a lot of the groups here. Nice to see schools outside of Texas coming to compete. Coppell HS is such a fire hosting site!

theres some truth behind this...something weird happened, correct me if im wrong as we don't have raw scores but we were told we got 3rd in individual movement, 4th in ensemble visual. for the 21st spot that was a percussion score a judge gave us

definitely glad to see argyle making state, and huge congratulations to all of the finalists. as a member of the colony high school, idk what happened. we were kinda confused on why we didn't make finals (alongside emerson), seeing the prelims recap helps a little bit but sadly we just cant change the judge outcome . Glad I got to end my marching career on such a cool show though.

Alright fine I’ll throw my hat in the ring 😅 1st - Wakeland/Lone Star (both are just soooooo clean) 2nd - Wakeland/Lone Star 3rd - Lebanon Trail (known to be clean by area) 4th - Reedy/The Colony/Argyle/McKinney North (scores will be either really close, or spread out a lot imo) 5th - Reedy/The Colony/Argyle/McKinney North 6th - Reedy/The Colony/Argyle/McKinney North 7th - Reedy/The Colony/Argyle/McKinney North 8th - Emerson/Walnut Grove (Scores were really close last year) 9th - Emerson/Walnut Grove 10th - Independence/Memorial/Frisco Centennial/Heritage Im trying not to base my rankings off of previous comp scores since they all happened over 2 weeks ago and these comps rarely mimic UIL judging. 👍

Also another question, does anyone know what type of judging system will be used at this competition? In 2022, the scores released reflected specific numbers and placements with regards to music individual/ensemble, visual individual/ensemble, etc… but last year the only numbers released were judge placements on a scale of 1 — 10. Just wondering because many of the judges and scores that people use to compare bands are subjective to the competition with factors such as score inflation and what not.

member of TC here, competition will be very stiff and scores will all be close imo. Correct me if I’m wrong (and I would appreciate if someone helps me clarify this) but are bands music scores relative to their size? Us and Argyle are definitely some of the smallest programs that make finals at Area B and I have always wondered if judges score bigger bands with bigger sounds but smaller visuals. As a smaller school, we definitely get to shine in our visual category but music can be a struggle due to all of our sections being smaller than the other finalists. Nonetheless, we’re ready to bring the heat!
