  1. Maybe in the near future we'll see a change to the judging at the area level. Just this past season the UIL advisory committee approved "in concept" to reconfigure the 5 area judges into brass, woodwind, percussion, visual ensemble, and visual individual. This will hopefully be implemented next year. I think that this will definitely improve the judging(especially for this area lol) at the area level and make it a lot easier on the judges, instead of having them judge all of the music of each band. This is also very similar to the judging pannel at the state level, except without the music ensemble & content and design judges. I'm also pretty sure that this change is only for 5A and 6A Area contests.
  2. Here's a video of thier show. I think they have a strong chance of getting 2nd place again this year
  3. I tried finding info on this contest but so far I haven't found much. Looks like their website hasn't even posted the schedule. As for my guess, there'll probably be most of the bands that were here last year. Here's the schedule from last year. Most of the bands here are from Area E so I think that we'll see most of them return.
  4. Earlier this season I was hesitant to put Foster and Fulshear in finals, but from what we have seen so far I think that they're definitely going to shake things up at Area finals. It's crazy to see how much this area has grow. Even comparing this area to what is was just 2 to 3 years ago, there has been so much growth from all of the programs. I think we'll all be in for a surprise at what bands make finals and also how finals turns out.
  5. Here's Dawson at BOA Shenandoah. This is just my opinion, but idk how they didn't place higher with the show that they have. Definitely an amazing show with difficult drill and music. And here's our first look at Dickinson. Wish the camera was turned more to the right but oh well.
  6. Looks like there's gonna be a whopping 12 bands from this area going to BOA Webster, 6 of which have made it to state last year(6A & 5A). It'll be interesting to see how many bands from this area will make finals and if any will medal. My prediction is that that placements will be way different than what happened at BOA Shenandoah. I think this competition will show us which bands are fighting tooth and nail for a chance at state. Can't wait to see how this weekend turns out! - Brazoswood - Shadow Creek - Clear Brook (6A state) - Pearland (6A state finals) - Foster (5A state) - Churchill Fulshear (5A state) - Ridge Point - George Ranch - Clear Springs - Dickinson (6A state) - Clear Lake - Dawson (6A state)
  7. Okay guys here's Hebron for real this time. Hopefully it doesn't get taken down before the end of the day.
  8. Well it looks like this contest is right around the corner. Does anybody have any last minute predictions?
  9. I would say that Dickinson will probably take winds and percussion. Not sure about color guard tho
  10. I believe that there are also caption awards for each conference for prelims
  11. There should be caption awards for color guard, percussion, and winds(brass and woodwinds)

  15. Here's the schedule for this competition
  16. Okay it looks like the schedule has been changed again to accommodate for Jordan HS dropping this comp to go perform at BOA Shenandoah. Nothing much has changed except for Clements and Ridge Point each moving up a block along with prelims ending 15min earlier.
  17. Looks like the prelims and finals contest schedules had been released Prelims: Finals:
  18. I'd say that there's a good chance that they could make area finals, but I don't think I could see them making state
